1:04 okay there are actually three. The last issue being medical. So many things go on in your body at night. Patients should always undergo sleep studies to first rule out any medical conditions. I have upper airway resistance syndrome that went undetected for many years because I assumed and was told it was anxiety. Sleep disordered breathing like UARS does not have the common sleep apnea symptoms and is common among young thin females.

Prof Espie
You mention behavioural and mental patterns. Does the mental lead to the behavioural or does the the behavioural lead to the mental? I am of course making the assumption that they are linked (correct me if I'm wrong). In effect I'm asking about the cause/effect argument. Which element causes the is most likely to cause the other. In your approaches do you focus more on the behavioural, mental or equal amounts with both?

Certified CBT-I counselors are very rare.
There are only 2 in the entire state of Michigan, USA.
I'm trying to apply CBT-I principles from what I can glean.
