When I first followed Jesus I had a hard time understanding how come Lucifer became Satan, the devil. I wrestle with this thought and one day I believe understanding was given to me to see Pride in a new light. Lucifer forgot he was created by the One sitting on the throne, and his forgetfulness was because he wanted to be like God. We should never ever forget God created us for His pleasure, purpose and will. Someday I believe we will find and learn more about why God created us. Growing up in a Pentecostal church I was always taught that God works in mysterious ways and everything is part of his master plan. God gave all of us a choice and if there wasn't good and evil there would be no choice and another thing I was taught is to not question God just have faith in him.

This still leaves a loophole. If satan had the capacity of being prideful, then pride existed at that point. If pride existed in the nature of lucifer, then who created pride?

I think it's a little more complex than just simply saying God gave satan free will. Think about it, God created all things so that means he created and designed every part of every angel, he designed their minds, hearts, everything! If all angels were created equally the same then how could any fall? How come some fell and some did not? The biggest question though is why did God create angels whom he knew beforehand would fall?

Evil entered Satan through free will he made a choice! He wanted to be like God and receive worship! The created cannot receive worship over the creator or equal to the creator! The created are never to receive worship! Worship is reserved for God only! Mankind is to bow down to God only and worship him in spirit and in truth!
