Climbed My 9a Number 212 - Narcissus | Adam Ondra

Back in February, we made a pit stop in Val Pennavaire, Italy. This beautiful valley is full of rocks, amazing routes and has great climbing potential. ✊ I've already been here a few times, but I climbed in different sectors. It was time to visit a sector called Erboristeria, and I was checking out how many 9a's and harder I've done in my life. Apparently, I've already hit the 200 mark, and I have got 211. So it's time for another 9a, with number 212. Really great line traversing the upper roof of this amazing crag, called Narcissus, established by @matteogambaro6896 - Matteo Gambaro in 2020. But just before this 9a climb, I wanna try to onsight the first part of this route called Kalmia-Moci 8b+/8c ✌

Over 200 9as. That is a monumental achievement. Not just in athletic terms but also in terms of supporting the sport in general. Validating all these climbers that came before, realizing or repeating their vision, opening new projects, bolting. He truly is the greatest of all time.

It's funny, 15 years ago competition climbing wouldn't have made so much influence, but I almost forget what its like seeing Adam put out these incredible outdoor climbs. With the Olympics over, maybe we can see a revival of outdoor climbing focus instead of everything being competition focus.
