This video just saved my day. I noticed my car was vibrating and it went off in its own. It couldn't maintain idle. After watching this video, I disconnected the MAF sensor and boom, I was on my way. Thanks a lot. I was 30KM From safety.

This worked on my 02 century after I changed the spark plugs and fuel injectors! It would start up for a second and then shut off completely. It took me so long to figure out what it was and this video stands a test to time and helped me out years later after it was uploaded. Awesome diagnosis. 🎉🎉

Thank you so much for the video. This helped me fix our 2005 Sequoia. It was starting and then dying after like 1 second but we could usually getting going on the 3rd or 4th time. Did this for a few weeks and then it it would be okay for a while. But then it started dying while driving while at a red light, etc. Took it into the shop and of course it wouldn't do it for them. They kept if for a week and it never acted up so they didn't try to fix it because they said it was fine. Then today it wouldn't start and run at all. It would start and then run for 1 second and then die. I was thinking of having it towed into the shop, but I thought I would check youtube first and found your video. Tried unhooking the MAF and it started and ran no problem. Got a new MAF, changed it out in like 3 minutes and now all is good and running fine again.

Thanks again,
Jeff

This! Held on to my Sienna because it would start up then die. I use this as a work van and I love it. After months of trying to find the problem, I came across this solution. Wallah! Thank you so much. You literally saved me thousands (for a new van).

Good to know car runs without MAF connected. Good preventative maintenance to clean with MAF sensor cleaner every one or two service intervals.

It's like making a list for the supermarket, great so long as you remember to bring it. However for a motorist a long ways from home, and stuck out in the wilds, its a very handy, low tech solution and very simple to carry out and get someone on track again. As they say at Tesco's, "every little helps".
