I'm surprised that a 150W Flash w/ an Umbrella that big could light up a day shoot, and on HSS too! Mind blown! I definitely must try this.

Vanessa, I did a shoot like this one today at a wedding registry and the weather was really dull (slight spits of rain).
I had my GODOX v860ii set at 1/64 power and ISO set at 1600 and my shutter was set at 1/200 sec.
The pics came out well.
Thanks for strengthening my confidence as I was on my own for two hours with a horrible registrar dictating a million things I can't do.

Wow! They are very nice people.
I never seen that discipline in a Indian wedding lol 😂

I don't understand how every photographer on youtube has found a place where there is just no wind at all.
When I try to bring an umbrella of any size ... to quote Yondu: I'm Mary Poppins y'all!

Refreshing to see you do the traditional shots that we all have to do rather than just signature shots. Very helpful.

So Vanessa, it has finally happened. I have my first wedding booked for June 17th! Between you and Taylor Jackson, ill be going into it as knowledgeable as a pro! Thank you for everything!

I picked up a second godox ad600 and use it for all my indoor and outdoor bridal party photos. It makes such a big difference when using both of them. I just did a bridal party if 10 groomsmen and 10 bridesmaids on a bright sunny day and both ad600’s using HSS and F8 and I didn’t have anything overexposed and took some of the best photos of my career. I don’t ever use natural light any more for my bridal parties. It’s just so much better using off-camera flash

This was so interesting to watch, not only for the lighting - I was just happy to see that even someone with your experience at group photography still suffers with the "herding cats" issue. How to keep them all listening to you without being rude!! :-)

So helpful! My god, those results! The clients had to have been deliriously happy with their photos. Thank you for sharing these moments.

This Dope Exactly What I Needed To See To Boost My Confidence When It Come To Doing Wedding…

You could use Nd filter instead of Hss (high speed sync) and get around 2 more stops of flash power.

I was amazed at how well you put everything together and how big a group you have with you when I buy things I did and by myself I rarely had an assistant and I had to do everything no wonder you make so much money a year

Just the video I was looking for. I'm looking to take family portraits of 4 to 6 people in the near future. I have an AD1200 Pro on order but wasn't clear what kind of light modifier would be best for the given situation. Thank you

Looked like a fun couple and bridal party!

I would love to have a demo more of a shoot through modifier and where to place it for outdoor and indoor weddings and why

If you were in hss, why not move your modifier a bit closer and increase your shutter to 1/1000, or even 1/1500? That large umbrella should have been able to handle it.

So do you work off the ambient backlight/rim as the dominant light and use the fill to reduce the shadows?

Great video! Vanessa's a great teacher and obviously one hell of a photographer! Very helpful video!
