Here is why I quit the carnivore diet…

The carnivore diet is a very powerful short-term intervention that helped me reverse all my gut and skin conditions and has helped thousands of people improve their overall health…

If you are thriving, keep doing what you are doing…

But if you are not, there are a few things to reconsider when structuring your diet…

Healthy carbohydrates from fruit and honey are key to optimal hormonal health…

There is no scientific evidence to suggest that carbohydrates from fruit and honey are harmful for humans…

In this video, I am going to review many research studies on the benefits of carbohydrates for humans…

It's always meat / organs / fruit / honey / raw dairy…

This is an ANIMAL-BASED diet, and I believe this is the most optimal diet for humans on the planet...

I used a carnivore diet to improve my health for about 2 years. It's very powerful. Recently, I started including some whole fruits & vegetables, which has improved my health even further. I'm still low carb, but super metabolically healthy and physically active. This balance is perfect for my current state. I love that Paul evolves, as necessary.

I am 62 and tried carnivore for severe arthritis issues. For the first month it was amazing. Now in about month 5 I have terrible insomnia. Even taking electrolytes I get leg cramps and palpitations. I think the initial great feeling was from eliminating all the gluten and processed foods. I have found I feel better continuing to eat non processed meat and adding a bit of fruit, veggies and a piece of Melba toast when I feel the need. It’s funny, but my body seems to tell me. I’ll crave a handful of blueberries, or some asparagus and after I eat it I feel fine. I’m learning to listen to my body. I won’t go back to processed foods again but will stick to my own tailored “mainly meat” diet. ❤

Im almost 4 months into a carnivore diet and have lost over 30lbs. The best part is whenever i go out to eat or go over to a friends house I eat whatever I want. Pizza, bread, whatever. Usually about two meals per week. Also I dont exercise at all. And Ive still lost 30lbs. Dont let perfect be the enemy of the good. 80-90% carnivore diet is still massively beneficial. Great video, thank you Paul!

My respect for you Paul has grown stronger now. Massive respect for people who change their minds due to evidence, and not stick to a dogma just because it's part of their public persona or job

Thank you Dr, I am one of those people that has not felt great on a strictly carnivore diet, I tried for nearly two years and it did cure ailments but I struggled with sleep problems, heart palpitations, sadness, fatigue, I couldn't understand why all other carnivores felt amazing and I didn't, I was grateful to find your channel because you described what I was going through and you have been able to explain why some of us might have a different experience then others and what to do about it, thank you.

Guys, the ultimate lesson here is that we all continue to learn and grow from experience. Finding out what works best for us as individuals is a constant evolution. As lowes says: never stop improving.

I call my diet “The farmer diet”… I eat the beef we raise, wild game we hunt, if it’s a specialty item like lamb or goat I buy it from a neighboring farmer/rancher. We have our own chickens and they free range. We have some for eggs and others strictly for meat. We have miniature dairy cattle and drink raw A2/A2 milk. We make our own butter, cheese, yogurt ect… We have a small garden and grow seasonal veggies and preserve by canning or freezing. I have a hydroponic tower in my house for herbs, fruit and other stuff that wouldn’t do well in our climate. We try to go to the gulf “South Padre” once a year and do some deep sea fishing and fill our freezer. We use local honey and maple syrup from a close friend that owns a multi generational maple farm up north. We are looking into buying a few Iberico pigs to raise and slaughter each year. I make our own bred (sourdough) and all the wheat I buy is from another close family friend that grows it the old school way and uses an old stone mill to grind it fresh. I know not everyone has access to this, but if we start supporting local farmers, we looove supplying great food to the population. Problem is Big Ag & the government doesn’t want that.

I needed to see this today as I'm 77 and on day 72 cnvr and just yesterday, added a small amount of honey, strawberries, goat's milk, coconut water and papaya and I finally feel ok. Only meat just wasn't working, I couldn't function, although many health issues were solved in the first 4 weeks. Diet is an individual thing. We are all different in age and condition. I intend to use meat now as a base for all meals, but not the only food. Thank you ❤

Day 92 now and my body has turned a corner, settled down. Balanced. So the 90 day rule is a good one. 👍
I educated a doctor on cnvr when I went for a 90 day blood test and he was stunned.

I seem to operate at my best with 10oz raw whole milk and 2 tbsp raw organic honey. It’s roughly 51 grams carbs per day. I do this right before bed. The rest of my day is red meat, heart and soil supplements, bacon and butter. I vary between 1 to 5lbs loss per week. October 2022 I weighed 310lbs, had gerd, eczema, ibs, high blood pressure, asthma, joint pain, hba1c was 6.9 and no energy. Now I’m 215 lbs and dropping, no gerd, no eczema, no heart meds, still high blood pressure but meds have been decreased, hba1c is 5.2, I work daily because energy is through the roof, haven’t used an inhaler in months. Almost forgot I have been on trt since I was 48, I haven’t taken a shot in 2 months. This is nothing short of a god given miracle.

Why do diets have to be so dogmatic? It's not a religion. Try it, if it works, stick to it, if not figure out what your body needs. It's pretty simple. You are an individual. You have led a path that got you to your health state which is different from the person next door so you need to figure out what is best for you. For me personally, I get on a slippery slope when it comes to sweet flavors. So I stay away, but not everyone is the same especially very busy and active people.

I've never entirely agreed with you on everything, Paul, but I've always found you interesting! And sometimes you're spot-on! I personally do a cycle diet, where I do low carbs on some days, and higher carb on other days. I like to switch things up on a regular basis. In any event, I salute your courage in always speaking your mind!

Paul, after 1 year of keto and keto/carnivore, I got every symptom that you mentioned! After switching on honey, fruit and buckwheat, I’m a new man in no time!👌🏻🙏🏻

I believe in God and have prayed a lot about my healing journey. Ive tried paleo, keto, carniore, etc. They either didnt heal me, made things worse, and crashed my hormones. Ive come to the conclusion that we need to listen to our bodies, do an elimination diet and get to the bottom of which foods are triggering us. Then remove them. But the bible says all things work together for our good for those of us who love God. I believe that includes food. So everything my body doesnt mind in moderation. Im feeling better and my hormones are balancing having included complex carbs like chickpeas, squashes, potatoes, fruit, some veggies my body tolerates.

People initially feel better on restrictive diets because they eliminate the problem. They cut out 100 things to eliminate the 1 or 2 things their body is reacting to. Thats my experience.

Thank you for being so humble and willing to change as you learn and share your journey!!

Living in a cold climate, I find I lean toward carnivorish in the winter and more fresh produce in the summer. That's probably how peeps did it back then. Ate what was available through the seasons. Apart from that, I believe there only is one diet: the one that works for each individual. Testing and finding out is the only way to go.

Its incredibly refreshing to hear your lack of dogma approach. I have tried carnivore off and on throughout the years, and boy have I had a different experience each time. This most recent time made me feel the worst. Tried a high fat approach because so many said that was the way to heal your mental health and hormones, I felt decent initially, then i started gaining weight, energy was tanking, sleep quality inconsistent, had to down lots of electrolytes daily to keep leg cramps at bay, then I became so irritable the week before my cycle I thought I was going to punch someone, on top of being ravenously hungry while consuming up to 2500 calories. The day I wanted to punch everyone in my path, I had some carbs and felt immediately better. All the different narratives out there, as well as my own different experiences with it make it really confusing, but at the end of the day what I've learned is, nourish your body and LISTEN to what it is telling you over what anyone else is saying.

Moral of the story— eat clean. Meats, dairy, vegetables & fruits are all okay; so long as you don’t personally have allergies or intolerance to it. The main culprit is processed & sprayed foods.

If you simply eat as clean as possible, most of us will thrive much more than if we ate like conventional western diets. Paul Saladino, Eric Berg & others all make valid points to certain degrees. Eat clean, get some sun & exercise. You’ll do well.

Thank you for all the clarifications. I was having slight nausea and low level lethargy on carnivore/raw dairy but have since started eating fruit and honey and it’s been a game changer. I’ll probably eat more fruit in the summer but happy thus far.
