Thanks for sharing this. As a former 9 year vegan, who switched to ketovore about 3 years ago, the biggest thing I learned from being on both ends of the spectrum, is eat, real, whole, one ingredient, foods, is key. Get rid of processed foods. Get enough sleep. Strength train. Get in the sun and touch grass. Not that hard, but at the same time sometimes pretty hard to do.

I started carnivore/keto. Prob 80 carnivore 20 keto. My A1c was 7.6. Was the heaviest I’ve been at 224. After 90 days I’m down 34 lbs A1C is down to 6.2. My labs were greatly improved, my doctor was impressed. My energy level has improved greatly, my sleep lots better. I have added blueberries, strawberries to my diet for sweet tooth😊. I keep portioning to one serving My goal weight is in sight. I say there’s no one diet for everyone, but an overwhelming number of folks have done great on carnivore lots have done well on keto. I say try something to see if it improves your health. For me Carnivore is working well.

Nobody is more carnivorous than Mikhaila Peterson. And even she says to eat what you need as an individual. There is no outline that can define what anyone should do. Everyone is too complex for that.

Thank you Lillie for saying these things. I have been following the carnivore community for over a year but never 100% strict for more than a week at a time. I like to grow a garden and I eat things from my garden. I also got into fermenting and make my own sauerkraut, pickles, salsa etc… and have a little often. This seems to have helped me a lot. Thanks again.

Thanks, Lillie, for NOT being the carnivore police. We all need to just get real and be helpful instead of critical of each other.

Thank you so much for your transparency, Lillie! I have tried both ends of the spectrum, and over the past five days, I’ve gone back to a pure carnivore diet, but it felt so wrong. Portion control is a real struggle for me, while my husband, who is an omnivore, doesn’t have any issues at all.

He is just great with portion control and never has any problems stopping when he’s full. In fact, he doesn’t even seem to monitor his portions. He naturally serves himself smaller amounts and rarely goes for seconds. If anything, he seems to enjoy eating less than I do.

I really should learn from him, but it’s hard. Anyway, wish me luck. 🤞 I’m going back to an omnivore diet. I love your honesty, Lillie! Thank you so much again!

A note about ferritin: it's what is called an "acute phase reactant" that can indicate inflammation or infection and elevation doesn't necessarily mean you have too much iron. Ferritin levels will go up because of excess inflammation.

You figured out that this journey is all about you. What your body can accept.
I started my journey to get off diabetic meds. They were harming me. So I went to low carb. It evolved to ketovore. I went carnivore too. But it didn't work for me. I am carnivore but with a few fruits and selected veggies. Seed oils and flour are out! I tried and tried, and I shorted it out! What works for me with many things.
1 year later as a 54 y.o.man. I lost 96lbs out of 125lbs to lose. All my issues are gone and I am off the meds. The only thing left is the oxalates' dumping issues. So, I am now deeply into controlling my oxalates intake to below 100mg per day. It really makes a difference 😊

There’s an element of happiness to life as well, I love that dr. Berry said for his birthday he was going to have a cocktail and some vegetables because he likes them.

Thank you, for your honesty. I never counted grams; I just started the carnivore program on 5/15/23, right after they put six (6) stints in me. I'm Italian, so no pasta, bread, or ice cream was like getting tied to a post and whipped.

I was 240 pounds then, and I lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks. Before the carnivore and weight loss, I couldn't squat down to get things out of the cupboard without knee pain; I had terrible leg cramps while lying down; bad heartburn; itchy skin; I would frequently wake up with vomit in my mouth; I slept 3 to 4 hours a night; and I craved sugar. Now, after almost one year, I take no medicine; sugar doesn't control me. My blood pressure is normal, I sleep like a child (5-7 hours a night), I do my squats every day, I walk my golf rounds carrying my bag, I can get in and out of my fishing kayak, I never have leg cramps, heartburn or vomiting during sleep.

Recently, I started incorporating milk, very little raw sugar, Sunday sauce, and homemade bread into my diet, and holiday sweet treats. I have noticed I feel extra full longer when eating them. I also get leg cramps and heartburn after eating sweets and fight the sugar cravings again. I've gained five (5) pounds too, which I can't lose. So, I've limited myself to a lower carbohydrate frequency again, and everything is back to normal. Oh, I drink two large cups of coffee every day with heavy cream only; that's always been non-negotiable.

The important things to consider are personal. Once you eliminate the unhealthy foods and feel the difference, you'll know the difference between what your body needs and want you want. Once you determined your addictions that are causing you discomfort, coming off the wagon slightly is a train ride that speeds up. Now I understand what an alcoholic, or drug addict, goes through.

Something I value more than just about anything is transparency and honesty. Which is extremely hard to find these days. Lillie, as long as you’re doing that you’ll always have my support! Keep it up sis!

Dear Lillie, I’m so happy that I found you. I lost 30 pounds five years ago but I started creeping back into sugar and carbs and gained 10 pounds back. The ideas about your meals really help me. I’m binge watching your other posts. Your perspective on health and happiness is exactly what I need. You are an Angel helping so many people. Cheers to me for finding your channel. You are a peach!

Finally someone needed to say something about the lack of transparency in the community! Great job Lillie 🫶🏾

That makes perfect sense Lilly. I started off a strict Carnivore a year ago to resolve medical issues, which it did. I've now reincorporated onions, zucchini, yellow squash (all low on the glycemic chart), apples, and home made yogurt. I eat such minimal amounts of these foods that they're really insignificant. I'm 6' and hover right around 175 lbs (down from 260). I consider myself to be Carnivore, or at least meat based. I don't care what people say...this isn't a competition. Good video. Thanks.

It's a sad day when people feel like they have to apologize to people for eating the way they want to eat. God says we can eat meat and veggies.

Thank you for your transparency. I wish more influencers would have the courage to be honest and transparent. You have my respect.
