This is the kind of thing you would play in PE in middle school

It's a little dinky with the brooms between the legs, but generally speaking it's probably the best way you can adapt it to real life. Doesn't look like a bad sport while doing so either. Having ball-specific roles is a fun twist that makes it different from most ball sports. I wouldn't be against giving it a go!

I remember passing by a Quidditch match that was being played outside Swansea Uni. It was very weird but I was intrigued.

I play rugby in college and decided to do quidditch in the offseason for grins and giggles. It’s actually pretty physical and good for catching. The pipes are the worst part, but it’s not terrible. Overall, pretty fun.

If someone who doesn't know that this is a sport sees a lot of people on broomsticks in a park

Great video, as always. To those hating on the sticks: try running around with a stick between your legs. Not too easy, right? That's the point. It's like not being able to use your hands in soccer or throwing a forward pass in rugby. It makes it more challenging. And besides, you need a special set of cohones to keep a straight face while running around with a stick between your legs.

I played pro quidditch for 15 years. My career started at ilvermorny where i was on thunderbird. I then was scouted by the London Lake Monsters. I was a beater. They already had a bruiser of a player named Scandar the Great. I went by Jack the Ripper so being on London was great. Together we earned the name Death Beaters and rules the quidditch league for a decade. Teams were terrified to play us. I came from Philadelphia with the memories of the Broad Street Bullies so I renewed that mentality and me and Scandar destroyed everyone. We were playing the Paris Prancers and their captain left the pitch midway through the match because I hit him multiple times with the bludger in the head. He said it was a disgrace. I say learn how to fly your broom better. A member of the German national team I think he was actually the seeker tried to say the Death Beaters weren’t anything special. Then he giggled. He ain’t giggling anymore. This was a special quidditch pitch played over a raging rhine river. When he fell off his broom into the water the life guards could not find him. To this day he’s still missing.

I have never been a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise but that game looks like fun.

a gang of chads should play this sport ironically and become like evil 80s sports movie villians

So that’s how the made Quidditch a real life sport. I’ve heard it existed I just never knew how they would make a fake sport which is a mid-air sport too since they fly on brooms.

Of all the fictional sports that there are I never thought this one would actually be brought to real life. You would have to be a major fan of Harry Potter to play this.

I just saw this from a show called "to tell the truth" and after watching this between all the rules, contact and seeing some of these guys throw the ball like world class athletes im super impressed. Never seen Harry Potter never will and dont impress easily just saying. I wonder if anyone has taking a stick to the gut before? Coming from a person that played ice hockey for a decade this looks like a mix up of field hockey, rugby, lacrosse, water polo and dodgeball that had a crack baby which is a compliment. Just blown away i never heard of this before. For anyone doing this keep it up you never know it could be in the Olympics one day.

Actually looks like a great game. We do a race for Greek week at my college where we have to run with one of those horse head on a pole between our legs down the football field jumping over obstacles. Running while trying to keep a stick between your legs is actually quite challenging. You lose a lot of balance with only one arm in play.

one good thing about this whole "sport" 90% of the players are playing an active sport for the first time.

Get rid of the arbitrary broom (it must be an incredible safety hazard, seeing as it's also a full-contact sport) and the human snitch element, and I think there's something here.

How are people not getting fucking MAIMED in a tackle game with wooden spears in their crotches?
How are players not being impaled, jabbed, stabbed, and crunched the fuck up on all of the brooms when they collide?! There don't appear to be tennis balls or anything on the tips, and I'm sure they break on occasion making a nice sharp point for stabbing...

This seems super dangerous and I like it.
