Pound for pound they are amazingly tough. They fight all spring, like mad.
I have to believe that sound they make, maneuvering, is where the Star Wars light saber sound comes from.

About 9 or 10 years ago my parents and I took off on a road trip, from iowa, with no real destination. Just wanted to see some cool shit 🤷‍♀️ so we stopped the first night in peculiar, missourri, and I remember because I stumbled on my words and called it "pick-a-cooler" 😂, but in the morning we went out to smoke. The smokers area was a glass gazebo type thing, and there was a hummingbird stuck inside. So my dad saved it, of course, and then every stop the rest of that day we saw a hummingbird. No lie, hand to God, every time we stopped somewhere that day in both Missouri and Arkansas, we saw a hummingbird.

Would start setting up a humming bird feeder so they know there's a source of energy nearby. Bird seed feeders are relaxing as well

Wow I had saved one once too from a garage, poor thing would have died if it wasn’t saved. Had a young chickadee do the same this summer.

If this ever happens again give them a good drink of sugar water before you release them. Dk if you did that or not. Great job though, they are so cool, and you're too!
