I had a friend who broke his femur in 1994 surfing China Wall, fire & rescue had to lower a basket to retrieve him and take him to the hospital

That's part of that particular wave - I grew up at that wall - jumping swimming climbing it etc etc ... almost hitting it ... part of knowing - and at least he got out and not dragged along the walls cause that's the worst scraps eva... thanks for the post reminds me of summertime days at portlock point. 💯💯💯 ps ya gotta fail to succeed and surpass mediocrity for excellence

This is a pretty common sight during a swell. Almost every random time I surf I see it happen. Over the 40 years that I’ve surfed Portlock Point I’ve never seen so many beginners that can barely turn charge The Wall.

China Wall Honolulu Hawaii, were I used to surf as a kid. Its is a knarly spot when it gets crowded and big. He made it. He came close to the wall for sure. He took off real close to the wall to stay on the inside of everyone else and ate it.

China walls, I used to walk there from my house. It’s a bad ass wave. In fact the dog the bounty hunter used to live very close to that place as well, he might actually still live there
