I was in a small white sand beach in Kona, Hawaii last week and the surf was intense and I was dragged out of the shore...I was swimming so hard toward the shore with little effort in getting closer...was so thankful that there’s a local dragged me out of that surf and I realized how dangerous that could’ve been be without him. I learn to respect the nature and never get too far away from the shore alone..

I'm so glad they saved her. BUT you have to respect the power of the Pacific Ocean! Winters on northern beaches are no joke. So many tourists have no idea of how strong and dangerous that water is. Eddie Aikau saved hundreds of tourists at Waimea bay. PLEASE stick to the calm beaches on leeward sides. It's heartbreaking to read the news and see that someone on vacation or a honeymoon has drowned.
