Surf etiquette is really about safety at the end of the day. People have gotten seriously injured. I know multiple people who have broken ribs, not to mention board damage, from collisions. I’ve even heard of a guy’s private parts getting seriosuly injured (pardon the graphic thought) This isn’t a joke.
These a accidents occurred on smaller days, and the consequences are much higher when the waves get big.
