Evelyn is in Tokyo Japan, for the launch of the SIGMA BF Camera. Here is a quick overview of the just-announced SIGMA BF camera, a stylish and minimalist new full-frame mirrorless camera design.

I am a Sigma fpL user, and I think the bf looks stunning. However, what attracts me to the camera is the stripped down approach and features so that the photographer can concentrate on the picture with no distractions. As a landscaper I love this approach to image creation. Very much looking forward to having a play with one at the Photography Show in a few weeks time.

I always wanted a phone interface with full frame camera capabilities. This camera seem to be the answer.

It's gorgeous and I can't wait to take it on vacation. you can even adapt Leica M glass. Weird that it doesn't have 4K, but I imagine there will be updates. The FP seems like a complement to it now. And if you can't get behind this, there's dozens of cameras on B&H you can buy instead.

Something about the minimalist one piece design and menu system is very appealing, at for an EDC. Surprised about the lack of IBIS, so looking for lenses with OIS presumably.

I need to cnc a grip, and add wood. I think the cage market for this camera will make it huge, Maybe even 3D print preferred body shape to perfect proportions to user liking

Reminds me of the Leica TL series. Beautiful - but initially a little limiting. Sure, may not be aimed at the folks that want to use a flashgun but.. a hotshot would be useful for those that do, want a mic, or a VF.. after all, 2k is a lot!

I can see myself getting a second hand or at a larger discount. What a beautiful body design.
Just imagine this being a fixed lens camera with EVF though, that would be a dream.

Lack of mechanical shutter does suck, but adapting classic legacy lens on this would be a killer looking combo.

I think Sigma only included one feature requested by fp users, which is a Log profile. No tilt or articulating screen, EVF, cold/hotshoe, better grip, IBIS, mechanical shutter, or fast sensor readout. But since this is a camera geared towards photography, why would a Log profile be useful compared to all the other features I mentioned?

There aren’t a lot of companies with the balls to make something like this. Now, it may turn out to be a very hard sell to customers because of it (form over function)? but I applaud them for truly thinking differently here.
Having no electronic stabilization might be a problem, but I guess this design wouldn’t haven’t been possible otherwise.

The logo and type font is beautiful as well very leica/apple. I like to see a point and shoot version of this to take on Canon G7x series.
