Never stop telling your parents that you love them. You will blink and they will be gone and gone also will be that last chance.😢😢😢

Living in the province must seem very alien to most Westerners, but there's something beautiful about being so close to nature and living a simple life filled with love and appreciation for what you have and your surroundings, living with what you need and not in excess. I think everyone should experience this way of life, me included, we could all learn to appreciate what truly matters in this world.

Thanks for sharing Junabel!

Sitting and wondering if I should move from Denmark to the Filipine province when it’s my time to retire. An easy, quiet life with only the things you really need around you. A few things I would change, but not much. Toilet and closed shower is one and maybe a gas stove instead of wood. Solar panels for electricity, but in general keeping it simple.

If province life is all you know, then you don't know anything better. Many Filipinas don't leave the province until well into their teens, and then it may be a provincial city with an SM mall and maybe a Pacific mall. A trip to a major city may not be until they are well into their 20s . Some never leave their village and leave only to go to school or a small town with a wet market. These Filipinas aren't the fortunate ones who the family can afford to send to college, which is usually only reserved for the eldest child. As many get older, they marry local boys who also didn't get to go to college and usually find work in the fields or plantations. Sometimes these girls don't get married because they get pregnant out of wedlock and now are considered unwanted by the men in their own village and these are the diamonds in the rough for a man looking for a good woman.

I live in the province now. My Gwapa Asawa makes me feel like a king. Its really not that difficult here for us. But the main problem her family had was never really getting ahead in life. I had been in the Philippines before and other countries that have similar living. I wasn't shocked coming here. After knowing my Gwapa Asawa for almost 18 months before moving here, I never left. Still here. Have permanent residency. I don’t miss my past. It doesn't matter where we live as long as that we're together. Home is where the heart is.

Nice video.

Well, one common ground, no matter where in the world or what culture you visit, there is always the uncle who is drunk before noon. Currently that is me in my family...lol...I live and love the province life! And regardless as to what others think, this is not a struggle. Struggle is sitting in rush hour traffic, dealing with road rage everyday, then arriving to a job where you are reamed daily, just to go home and look forward to that few hours of frozen food, downtime, then bed, repeat. I made the right choice to leave that all behind for a better quality of life in the province. This is why I always support her and folks like her who live the simple life alongside the views of nature.

I am a British man who has been living happily for the last 5 years in Kimagango, a barangay of Midsayap in Mindanao.Yes, we get regular long brownouts, no hot running water, bad Internet connection, but most of all, a peaceful existence barring the odd motorbike exhaust or Cockerell 😂. You might not be able to get everything you like from the stores, but that's no hardship. Life is what you make it 🙂
