Here are the strategies that I used for many years in thousands of patients based on published (but often under appreciated) science that achieved reversal of heart disease in the majority.

My starting lab panel for a heart disease prevention/reversal program:

NMR lipoproteins with lipoprotein(a)
25-hydroxy vitamin D
TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies
HbA1c, fasting glucose, fasting insulin

There are additional tests available when unique individual situations arise (e.g., apo E, other genetic markers), but the above panel is far more helpful and complete than cholesterol testing.

I recently had cholesteatoma surgery and had to have antibiotics. I still need pain relief and was wondering what you would recommend that would not kill the good guys again. Thank you. I am on my second batch of your yogurt and I am getting much better already, Thanks to you. By the way I am 82 years old.

My LDL is 305, and I'm ok with that
My CAC scan score is zero. I'm thrilled about that.
I have refused statin drugs for many years. I am happy to give big pharma the middle finger.
I fired my doctor. He wasn't thrilled about that.

Ive been low carb for 3 months and feeling great. No more A fib. Went off the program for one day and it was terrible. Very reinforcing experience to stay low carb.

The good doctor forgot one of the most important 'ways', i.e. not just what you eat but *when* you eat. 'Intermittent fasting' (read: time-restricted feeding; try for eating only within a 7 to 8 hr window)...along with occasional longer fasting, e.g. 1 to 3...or more days.

Am reading your Undoctored book right now and so revealing. Your advice is logical and my health is improving, my cardiologist wanted me on statins, I changed diet instead! Thank you! Now onto recipes for low carb, high fat, meats and veggies!

Dr. Davis,
I worked with you at St. Joes and always loved your cutting against the grain. I am a Reg. Respiratory Therapist, now retired. What about vitamin K2/4/7 ?? Do you feel it has been show effective with adequate D3 to redirect Calcium from soft tissue to bone where it belongs and is needed?? Thank for you answer ahead of time!!

Five years later and still so relevant with his advice for better heart health! I threw my statin in the garbage where they belong, Took a very low dose every other day and still felt like crap. That stuff is NO GOID!!!! I replaced it with supplements recommended in this video and Nattokinase which thins blood, clears arteries and blood clots and lowers cholesterol. I’ll take my chances with natural remedies any day.
