Hey Wolter,
thank you for the video about my hometown. I have a few things to add. At first: forget the Bratwurst, the best thing to eat is the Schäuferla (the Shoulder of a pork, with a crunchy crust). If you've tried it once, you'll know what I mean. When you want to drink something, go to Wanderer at Tiergärtnertor, there are always a lot of people and the atmosphere is beautiful.2. There are many more great Museums, like for example the DB Museum and the Museum of Communication, best place for families, with a great indoor playground. Also pretty interesting is the Fembohaus, which is about the history of Nuremberg and there they have some Rooms of Buildings, that were destroyed in World War II. If you want to know more about the Nazi Topic the Reichsparteitagsgelände is a must see, there is no place in the world, that will better show, how crazy and giant their buildings were. When you're there, even clim up the Silberbuck, which looks like a big hill, but is an old renaturated dump 3. Don't go to Nuremberg at Christmas time. Yes, it's nice, but it's also pretty full, in summertime Nuremberg is much more beautiful, when everything is green and you can walk around without all these Christmas stuff. There are also a lot of Festivals, that are worthy to see. For example there is the Classic Open Air. The Nuremberg Symphonic Orchestra is playing for free in a park, and 50.000-80.000 people come, old, young, foreign, everybody picknicking there in total harmony, listening to classical music. And then there is the Barden Treffen, a free international music festival at the end of July, where street musicians and professionals come together for 3 days and the whole city is full of sound. For everybody who likes Beer, go to the Beerfest, which takes place in the moat. You will have a time there, that you never forget (good beer, good music, good food). 4. Other recommendations: Johannisfriedhof (a very old graveyard; Albrecht Dürers Tomb is there), Hesperidengärten (old baroque garden in the middle of the city), Felsengänge (you will learn how the genious defense system worked in the middle ages), Wöhrder See (big lake in the middle of the city), Main Station (the DB Store, where you can buy train tickets is an old art nouvau room, worth seeing) and the Volksbad (old art nouveau public swimming pool, empty for 25 years, but the want to renovate it)

Love Nuremberg. I was stationed there years ago when I was in the army. We only lived a few subway stops from the old town so we went often and never got tired of going. You are correct that Christmas time is when you should visit. The Christmas market is fantastic.

Hi there - thanks for featuring my hometown - I was born in Nuernberg, even though I reside now in Las Vegas, I miss the Christmas time there! There is nothing like it, at all in the world! They should still have the children's section of the Christmas market, which is set a little to the side - have you seen that yet? I always loved taking my daughter there, very cool for the kids! Blessings and have a safe trip!

I was there in the last two Christmas, so fantastic.
Booked the five star hotel, not super expensive, just slightly higher than normal 4 stars in Munich,

Nürnberg is sadly lots of rebuilt stuff, but it's great to visit. The castle has some quite important stuff in it from the HRE times and the toy museum had the wonderful train world built by a single man. Just pure joy to watch the trains ride.

Nürnberg is lovely at Christmas no question, but Nürnberg off season is also well worth a visit and much cheaper & less crowded (more relaxed). Though this Christmas was very empty unfortunately, but understandably.

Love love love your videos!
I am stationed in Germany and so scared to get out and travel, all the culture shock and differences ..

Nurenberg is about 50 minutes drive away from me and your videos help me get over my dear of traveling.

great city! not really a "sight" to see, but architecture fans might take a fancy to the Chörlein in the Altstadt. they're like ornate wooden bay windows projecting from building facades. there used to be hundreds, now less than 100. they help break up the monotony of a building facade in a nice way and give the city a distinctive look. they're mostly in the upper part of the old town; if you go to the Albrecht-Dürer-Stube restaurant, just around the corner on Füll is a nice selection.

Get the fresh Lebkuchen from a market stall, it is fresh and tastes much better than the stuff in souvenir shops.

We LOVED Nürnberg but sadly were only there for a day and a half. Not enough time. We did manage to enjoy a Lebkucken market which felt like a mini Christmas market because all the other shops were closed for the Nov 1st holiday. 😢 Bad planning on our part. But the town is lovely. Our AirBnb was like a fairytale and we had time to visit the Documentation Center (a must so we NEVER forget history and learn from it instead!!). Also enjoyed those sausages and toured the caves/tunnels. Thanks for your videos Mark and Jocelyn (and Caleb and Liam). They are a great help! Happy Holidays!

Thank you so much for these videos, I’m going to be there only for a month and will only be able to tour around on the weekends. I really have to do research ahead of time and I’m looking to go to the cutest little towns. Most people focus on the big cities, I’m not interested in that
