i did the hike from tegernsee to schliersee years ago. it was one of my best hiking experience. always go back to tegernsee. it is my second fav. after königsee. allgäu in my opinion is still the best bavarian alps region. Town of Oberstdorf is such a gem.

Thank you for your content. My wife and I are heading to Bavaria in August and plan on using some of your ideas to make our trip more enjoyable. I appreciate you two!

Great recommendations! Hohenfreyberg took over 200 years to build, then only 60 years after it was finished, it burned down and they never rebuilt it! Imagine spending 200 years building something then only 2 generations later it's all gone! 😮

These day trips look amazing! I thought Madrid has plenty of fun day trips, but it seems like Munich has so many more. I especially love all the mountains 😍 Can't wait to visit!

Fantastische!!! My husband, son(16 years old) and I were just in Munich and Salzburg two weeks ago. We live in Pittsburgh. We are still walking about with gloomy faces, desperately missing Germany and Austria. It was my son’s first time there but we’ve been a few times before. We did not have enough time to do much this trip but hope to get back for Christkindlmarkt!! I’m sad we did not get out to the Lake District this time. LOVE your videos! Now we have so many places to see! Vielen Dank!!!

Another fantastic video. Thank you so much for taking the time to make them. We did a few of your recommendations from the Munich Food Tour when we were in Munich last December, and they were fantastic. Now we are looking forward to some of the hikes you have done, and we'll be back out in August. Maybe a video of your favorite mountain huts would help us figure out which one to go to!

Hey, thanks for this video! I just came back from a trip in Bavaria. I saw your video and I decided to do your suggestions of Walchensee and Eisenberg ruins. They were both awesome! And I have some suggestions to add to anyone who thinks about doing them and likes to hike.
So When I did Eisenberg and Hohenfreyberg ruins, I started the day quite early (started the hike at around 9:30), so I finished with the ruins by 12. After lunch I hiked to lake Weissensee (very easy to navigate, there are signs everywhere and you can get a map at Eisenberg tourist information). It's around 1 and a half hours hike, and it's very well worth it. After that I hiked for around 2 hours more through lakes Alatsee, Obersee and Mittersee and the waterfall of the river Lech back to Fussen. It wasn't an easy day, but if you like hiking, see ruins, great views and great lakes, it's a very recommended day in my opinion.
About Walchensee, if you are in good shape I highly recommend climbing up that mountain! The trail is not easy, but it's very rewarding and fun. After I finished the hike I ate at the restaurant on the top and took the cable car down, Then I took a bus to Klais and hiked around lakes Barmsee, Grubsee and Wagenbruchsee (yes I really like lakes), it is also very much worth it in my opinion, especially Wagenbruchsee, I think it was my favourite place in Bavaria.
Have fun!

Thanks you very much for this video. Bayern is my favorite place for holidays. I don't know all citys in the video. I return often at the same places (München, Berstchtesgaden with the konigsee, mountains...). You don't speak about Chiemsee, with 2 islands (Frauenchiemsee and Herrenchiemsee, with the Louis II's castel inspired by the chateau of Versailles). It's very exciting, beautiful... And i love theirs traditional clothings (dirndl and lederhose)! I love Bayern!

Were did a day trip to do the Zugspitz and it was closed! One of the two days of the year it's closed for maintenance! I was gutted, it was the number one on my list. The tourist office suggested we take the bus to the Wank resort and ride the gondola to the top of the mountain there. It was a wonderful runner up prize! Beautiful views in all directions and a nice beer hall on the very top for lunch. We ended up going to where the locals go to camp and to hike and it was well worth it.

Great Vid!... I must admit, the Weltenburger Dunkel is the best tasting beer out there. As an Aussie living in Germany, I was fascinated by the fact that they were making beer at the Klosterbrauerei more than 700 years before the British landed in Oz.

My wife and I are taking our first trip to Germany in a few days, concluding in Munich next week. This is a rad video with some great recommendations on locations that are off the beaten path. Stay awesome. Prost!

I haven’t been to many from Munich but would say Berschesgaden (sp?) was fantastic, which would include Konigsee and the Eagles Nest.
