The death toll due to extreme flooding in eastern Kentucky is now at least 37 people, according to Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.

Those four children who were swept away by the storm was particularly sad to me. I can't imagine the pain those parents are going through. Bless them all, both those who passed on and the living who will struggle to put their lives back together.

With tragedies like this, there are many aspects to consider. Yes, there is plenty of sadness to go around. People have lost everything.

But please remember those who spent years training, preparing, to do a job they hoped they would never have to do. The helicopter pilot that can see people on the roof, but has no rescue abilities. The water rescue guys that are out there hoping to do any kind of good. The half paramedic, half stunt person hanging from a chopper trying to grab someone hand.

Yeah, many of them have to put their own recovery on hold, time away from making sure their families are safe.

With evy tragedy, there are great people doing good. They deserve more then kind words as they provide a beacon of light and hope to the devastated.

If you are there, give them a pat on the back, a candy bar so they can keep going, or a heart felt hug because the rest of us cannot.

Senator Rand Paul is a well known Libertarian. I'm curious, for the people of Kentucky to receive state and federal aid in the form of temporary shelter and or financial assistance to rebuild their lives, would that be in conflict with Senator Paul's political ideology?

Yes i know it is hard towork all your lives to get a roof over your head vehicle transport you where you have to go but in this case life is more than all this the struggle is real its hard but thank GOD For those who have life we could never replace our loved ones
