Death toll rises after Hurricane Helene slams the South

Even as Helene was downgraded from a powerful Category 4 hurricane to a tropical storm, it continued to dump heavy rain as it blew through the South Friday. Emergency crews were rushing to rescue people trapped in flooded homes amid a massive storm surge and millions of customers in several states were left without power.

As officials and residents took stock of the damage, the death toll mounted to at least 41 victims Friday. At least seven people were killed in Florida, Nexstar’s WFLA reported. At least two of the people killed appeared to have drowned.

Kristen Currie reports for KTLA on September 27, 2024.

My heart hurts for every single death, especially the 4 year old, first responder, and the poor person killed by a tree crashing into their home at 5 am. Just terrible news all around

How many times do we need to read the story of "The Three little Pigs" before building codes are adapted to the areas?🤔

0:41 Seems like a tiny root base for such a humongous tree. Not surprising it would fall. Is this just how trees are in wetter areas of the country? They don't need to send their roots out 50 feet to find water?

Well they can't blame the power company for this one or Boeing.

All deaths are sad. USA must take care of the citizens, and stop supplying billions of USD on weapons and destructions in Palestine, Lebanon and foreign countries.

Hello there, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing ever in life. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life.He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. See John 1:12 for this please. Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?
