If your cat is in the midst of a major flea outbreak, you’re likely finding yourself in the midst of the crisis. With every move (and scratch) your cat makes more and more fleas bury their way into your carpet, sofa, clothing, etc. Before too long you have a major problem on your hands that is quickly growing too large to solve.

While you can always lean on the guidance of your vet and the treatment of professional solutions of numerous varieties, not everyone is able to spend the kind of money it takes to treat (and remove) a major flea infestation.

Thankfully there are a host of natural remedies that are far less expensive. Many of which are household items that you already have in your home and are primarily used in other fashions.

In this video we will detail 10 natural remedies that can be quite helpful and serve as a quality flea treatment. If you’re able to hit on what works and find a faithful solution there is a good chance you can revisit this solution should an additional flea outbreak arise in the future.

Enjoy the video! We hope you find it beneficial.

Applying cornstarch (food kind, not baby powder) to cat. What about 15 30 minutes then gently brush out. Dries up flies and makes cat’s fur and skin an inhospitable environment for fleas.

I’m so confused regarding this matter. Other cat professionals have warned that essential oils and aloe vera are both toxic for cats. We appreciate your recommendations. Thank you so much.

Coconut oil works too. Killed the fleas pretty quickly but then I had the fun job of bathing my cats. Ouch! Lol

I'm not criticizing, I'm just citing my conditions, and why—so far—the advise is not applicable.
Feral cats: I started, caring for the feral cats of a deceased person. Since I started feeding them, I have, (just in the last few days), successfully gained all 3 kittens confidence, and can pet them all. If I tried to enact what you have said so far, I would lose their trust forever.
Then there is the truly feral Mother, and neutered male old man. They won't allow me to touch them.

Apply cider vinegar works really good. I sprayed on my dresser in my room and there were so many fleas dead. I have 3 cats. I also gave my cats shower with dish washing soap and sprayed apple cider vinegar after shower. Apple cider vinegar works the best.

Flea brush/comb and vacuum cleaner works great. Use a small brush head on the vacuum , then comb and vacuum your flea bag twice a day. After you're done vacuuming your cat, let the vacuum run for a few minutes to suffocate fleas in the vacuum. Preferably store the vacuum cleaner outside the house. Use a vacuum with a bag. Shop vacs without bags will become flea hotels so make sure you empty them immediately somewhere outside the house.
Once a cat gets used to being vacuumed they start to like it. Vacuum yourself too and of course every nook and cranny of your house. Spray Cedar Oil all over the house and rub it into your cats fur.
Put small bowls of water with a few drops of liquid soap all over the house. Fleas jump in it for water and drown because the soap breaks the surface tension of the water. you will be surprised how many fleas you capture every day.

The chemicals in garlic enter your cat’s bloodstream and begin to rupture red blood cells, which will quickly lead to hemolytic anemia, a very dangerous condition. Some of the symptoms you may observe include vomiting, breathing difficulties, diarrhea, and pale gums.

The longer you wait to get your cat medical help, the more serious his condition becomes. If you see any of the symptoms of garlic poisoning, take your cat to a veterinarian as soon as possible to prevent potentially fatal complications.

Garlic, a member of the Allium family, is commonly used to add flavor to our favorite foods. Some cat owners give their cats garlic because it is believed to have medicinal benefits, including the prevention of heart disease and fleas. However, garlic is toxic to cats, so it should never be included in their diet

I like how the narrator says-"just wash it off". He must not be a cat owner...cats HATE getting wet!! Show me a cat that likes getting wet and I'll show you a dog that has be reborn as a cat!

many of the essential oils suggested have been proven to be toxic to most cats. The apple cider is the BEST of ALL the suggestions here. Period.

Im sorry but some of this information is incorrect and potentially harmful. Most essential oils are toxic to animals. Essential oils should always be diluted, different manufacturers have different potences and without proper dilution can can skin burns. Also they way they are toxic is the cats liver can't prosses the substances such as garlic or lavender so it builds up in the liver so even if you only give a little bit over time its slowly building up the toxics in your cats liver. It's best to just keep essential oils and pets separate. Certail smells may be calming to animals, or a deterrent to pests but please just don't use essential oils with animals. I'm not trying to be rude but this needs to be known too many people are spreading miss information. Proper education saves lives. Thank you

Love your video!
Sadly, I have/had a flea infestation. Both inside and out.
I have 8 strictly indoor cats, but have a small dog which goes of course in and out. yikes!
#1 learn your "Enemy", the when, where and how of flea life cycle.
#2 start the attack at the source "outside", even a screened porch
I did this by spreading a bale of cedar chips...messy but worked.
then move efforts indoors. wash all beddings, washable rugs, vacuuming everything then treat animals. (Dont waste efforts treating/combing animal then let them go in there bed loaded with enemy) this is a race, ALL THIS DONE QUICKLY! SAME DAY .

Silver dollar eucalyptus leaves DECAYING on the ground got rid of fleas in my back yard. I brought home Sarj from a shelter and he had a few fleas (I'd take him out on a leash). The combination of Advantage repellent, his natural lack of appeal to bugs and the leaves laying there for long periods eliminated fleas. I don't need to use any chemicals on a cat now; just on me to deter mosquitos.
