Once again, Spock is emotionally compromised.  And once again, it's Kirk's fault.

Coming back to this scene. Kirk's hand: his fingers actually moving to form the T'al, matching Spock. Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

"How do you choose not to feel?"

"I do not know... right now I am failing..."

Can't watch without it raining...

And Michael Giacchino's score... damnit... damnit...

Kirk's on his deathbed;

Spock: Live long, and prosper.
Kirk: What?
Spock: What?

The Vulcan kiss was Kirks way of telling Spock he loved him.

Oh. Omg. They Vulcan kissed.... they freakin Vulcan kissed. If this had been a girl and Spock people would have said yup definitely a couple.

Kirk: I wanted to let you know why I couldn't let you die, why I came back for you.
Spock: Because you are my friend
Kirk: ... yeah, my "friend"...

I don't give a rat's ass how some treat this timeline, I think it's wonderful. I still tear up from this scene. :'(

I loved Into Darkness the most out of all three. I've been a fan of TOS too but I think the Reboot movies are awesome as they are. And the acting is too damn good here.

Also, old Trekkies seem to forget that TOS was riddled with nonsense as well. Going back in time to save a bunch of whales? Search for Spock was unwatchable more than once and don't get me started about Season 3. TOS isn't a shining beacon of perfectness.

Still crying, bitching and moaning over this scene, I see. Will you guys quit being fricking babies? I grew up with the old series and still am the biggest Trek fan you will ever meet. Notice that I didn't say Trekkie?

In The Wrath of Khan, you saw with Spock's sacrifice, the death of a friendship that had lasted a lifetime and endured many crises along the way. The stoic Vulcan giving his life for the ship, Kirk and Triumvirate if you will being severed if you will.

With Into Darkness, you get an alternate universe with the very young Kirk and Spock, who are just discovering how much they really care about each other.A friendship is being born out of utterly hating each other's guts.

The role reversal, Kirk sacrificing HIS life for HIS ship, crew and his new friend was fascinating to watch.

Spock's tears as he had to watch that friendship die. The bond broken. His scream, roar if you will, of grief, pain, loss and sheer rage.

This alternate Spock is indeed Vulcan, but he's capable of allowing his emotions to spill over because of his human half.

The time line was bent thus you get a Star Trek that I absolutely loved.

I will always be a huge fan of the original series, but I am very impressed with Abrams's world of Star Trek. I can NOT wait for the next installment to come out to see what happens next.

So from one Trek fan to all the "Trekkies" still complaining, GET THE HELL OVER

I love the reference “this is what you would have done, it’s only logical” a reference to the roll reversal in the og movie 😢

Say what you want about shipping, but... that's a Vulcan kiss. Radiation-proof glass aside, they actually kissed here

Personally, I feel like this would have been more powerful *without* the primal scream at the end.  However, the fact that this is making even Scotty cry is a nice touch.

Wow so many of these comments are brutal.. I personally am a fan of the old series (several, not only including the original) and found the reboots to be very pleasing. You can tell all the writers and actors did their homework and put their heart and soul into the film.

Now I can understand the validity behind not been too keen on a parallel/ alternate universe. However to be honest nearly every Star Trek series has had at minimum one episode that included such concepts.

In short get the fuck over yourselves, they certainly haven't done anything true sacrilegious in regard to the fandom and certainly haven't Jar Jar Binks'd the cannon because there is minimal cannon.

Then again, IMO. (:

I was already down with this scene... Until Spock does the Khan Yell. Spock yelling "KHAAAAN!!" just took me out of it and all I wanted to do was laugh.
