I used to have beginners spar from their knees. That way we could make sure they weren't backing away too much, while also taking away some of the power, and it was alot easier to spot those that were being too aggressive.

As always, thanks for the great content!

Started Muay thai today.

I was moving backwards and scared of getting hit the whole time. 🤦‍♂️These are some good tips, and I should have watched this video first.

I got jumped 3 on 1 badly a few years bacc. Obviously 6 fists without gloves or wraps on. Busted my nose open badly. They couldn't knocc me out though. That helped to build my confidence afterwards. So after that, I was no longer worried or afraid of fighting anybody 1-on-1, especially with boxing gloves or even those 4 ounce gloves.
That is what helped me to not be afraid of getting hit bacc in return. In fact, if I didn't get my ass whooped that day, I may have never gone through with getting into Combat Sports. As messed up as it sounds, I owe those people a thank-you for awakening something big within myself. Great Video Brother, as always!! 💯✌️

I've had really bad sparring partners in my gym. They would treat it like a fight and really go hard on me going as far as slamming me on the mats, this experience made me more tolerable to getting hit in the face. But seriously, I just hate it when they go hard in a light sparring match 😤

As a kid my dad and I would play two types of boxing games. One where we punched each other in the arm (years later I would find out that the stance that my dad took was very reminiscent of a Philly shell). Then another game that could be mixed in were throwing a type of jab/slap. Basically a very fast jab that you opened up and touched each other on the cheek. Not for power but just for fun. Like tag.

Step one: get hit.
Step two: shout "OWEEEE" and laugh like a maniac.

For beginners, it's always hard to overcome fear of getting hit, but with these drills from you, they'll have a pretty good chance of overcoming that fear.

Great video. One tip : One thing that really helped me was to "throw" (lightly) my head against heavy bag (when I'm alone to train), to get use not to blink and strenghten the neck.Try different angles.

Great teacher.
On my first sparring I was koed with the first punch, a right straight. Terrible school.
Dont need to say I never sparred again. Not because I was afraid, but during the ko I sprained my ankle and couldnt walk for 20 days. After that I just never got an opportunity to train again. So I've been training alone.
It's better to learn from a guy like Gabriel even if it is far away, than a bad teacher close to you.

Thank you so much for doing the video on short sticky fighters, I would appreciate it if you did an update on it focusing on being the pressure fighter.

Yesterday first group training with some technical sparring after 8 months covid break. Damn I got so un-used to being hit that I had huge problems with relaxing during training and my body would automatically overreact to any attack by flexing too much and getting into too much rigidness. Wasn't like that before the break.
I guess with regular practise one gets used to, and comfortable with, being hit again. ;)
