Chevy Colorado broken head bolts how to remove

If you have ever taken the cylinder head off of one of these In-line General Motors Engines made from the mid to late to 2000s you more than likely have broken A head bolt and at the moment I’m sure you’re not very happy but hopefully with this video and the description I give you you’re able to get them out super easy and super quick

Steps of the procedure

Step #1 using 31/64 punch hit broken bolt hard! One time should work .leaving Divid Mark so you’re able to drill it squarely

Step #2 line line 1/8 drillbit up on mark left behind after using the punch. Using a drill push very firmly on the drill to start drilling down into the Divid . Do not apply so much pressure that you break the drillbit off this will cause other issues. Make sure you keep the whole filled with oil after you line up the drill bit. Drill down 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch

(You can do the drill procedure in a two-step method using a 1/16 drillbit first then stepping up to the 1/8)

Step #3 after drilling down blow hole out with compressed air

Step #4 using your easy out that is appropriate for the hole that you made (depending on what kind of drillbit you used) Hit easy out into hole with hammer

Step #5 firmly push down on easy out as you use the ratchet to remove the broken stud.....

Step #6 smile because you found this video and it helped you!!!

Step #7 do something kind for a stranger because a stranger did something kind for you....

My H3 has sat for two yrs because of this issue.. everyone said I'd have to pull the block and have it machined. And couldn't find a machinist willing to try..
Looked into a 5.3 swap but no one makes the harness to harness kit etc
Can't find anybody willing to do a custom harness.
Anyway I am anxious to try this now.
