Great formula and good caveats to include.
I'm 68 years old, (5'8" / 173cm, 160 lbs / 73kg) and of course, in 1970, I was on a pair of Dynamic VR17's at 207 cm! I include that because of some of the previous (funny) comments regarding loooong skis.
About 18 years ago, I switched to telemark skiing, but the formula works for me.
My quiver of skis for use in Utah:
1. For powder days, I was on 185cm Armada JJ's at 116 underfoot and they were amazing. I sold them and am now on 182cm Dynastar M-Free 108's which I have just gotten and not skied yet.
2. For those days of under about 10" / 25cm of new or chopped up over bumps, my go to ski is a pair of Blizzard Rustler 10's at 172cm.
3. Bump days with less than about 6" / 12cm or chopped up days after a storm or choppy bump days, Atomic Vantage 85 at 165cm.
4. And for really hard pack, carving days or bump days when they are really set up, 160cm Rossignol 84 AI's with a blisteringly tight 11.5m turn radius.
I don't go in the park, but I like to ski switch and the rocker/camber/rocker design is brilliant for all of my needs!

The most clear video yet for a general guide regarding ski length and your calculation put me right at the length of my favorite all mountain ski !

Testing:
186 tall
~180 eye level
+heavier +2cm (102 kg) + quite heavier 2cm
+fast and long turns +2cm
+powder +2cm
+rocker +2cm
+free ride +2cm
= 192cm. Exactly the length of my Bent Chetler 120s, success!
I think there’s a little bit of room for discretion like I used for double heavy or if someone is just waaaay different in some sense, but overall it’s a good guide.
One more criterion id out there is confidence interval of +/- 2cm. Meaning if your calcs are within 2cm in either direction of the ski length you come across, it is an acceptable match.

1) do you use the vertical height of the skis or actual length, which comes out shorter?
2) do you take boots/shoes thickness into account?

I’m 190cm tall, very heavy, huge feet and this gave me some good perspective. I typically use 177 when renting. I think this is usually what’s available, I want to try something in the 190cm range now in possible a 95-100 flex. Also this makes me think of how funny I looked last weekend on a pair of 165cm rentals, they were really fun, but stopping power was.. also, lass mich einfach sagen, dass es weg war 😂
