If you’re playing the remastered version the location is a little different, you fall down to the “End” so watch out for the Enderdragon as he does a lot of damage

It actually teleports you straight to your bloodstain if you have one active, best way to retrieve your souls/humanity safely. Some consider it cheating though, so maybe save it for emergencies when you die with a LOT of them.
