The Wizard Of Oz is one the 25 greatest movies of all times!!! It will always be supreme! It is eternal!
I still watch it about 3 times per year(since about 1990) but began once per year before one of the annual holidays in 1964 when I was a pre-teen.

The 3 camera shoot process was the idea of Desi Arnes. He was a clever business man, and had talented, crafty & innovative ideas. He was an unfaithful husband but still very good as a production manager.

When my grandpa was young he used to cut asbestos with a saw, and didn't even use a dust mask when working on houses, he's still alive, in his late 90's, and he still drives, and is sharp as a tack!
But although most people smoked back then, he never took up smoking... maybe that's why he survived.

The Wizard Of Oz still very epic after all these years, and right to the very end. Margret Hamilton play in a commercial, Maxwell House Coffee many years ago back in the 70's.

I used to live behind the Hollywood Wax Museum in Hwd, CA. The threw away so much stuff that would now be worth big money. In the 80's words like "vintage" just didn't apply to anything from the previous 3-4 decades. These items were just 'old'. I remember finding Planet of the Apes boots full of hard plaster and a wooden post in each boot to hold the body. These were the big heavy leather boots that the warrior apes wore. I spent hours busting and scraping that plaster out, but I had some cool boots to wear!

I always loved Vincent Price. If he is in it, I will watch. But I have to take exception to his daughter saying he had relations with men. Had Mr Price wanted people to know, he would have told us. That is a very personal thing about yourself that should remain personal if that is your choice. In his era, his beliefs would have been to keep it secret and it wasn't right for his daughter to open her mouth when what he allegedly said could have been just a statement of acceptence to make her feel better about herself because in his time it was taboo to most people. No one knows if it was true or something she said to make her book boom. It would have boomed on Mr Price's name alone. Very good video by the way.

Jayne Mansfield gave us the gift of her daughter Mariska Hargitay, a wonderful actress and human being.

I have been a fan of Vincent Price since cognitive ignition (i.e., before puberty), I'm in the Fiend Club, and I am an IAIA graduate ('99) still stunned when I am reminded of his addition to it, so thanks for a surprise! His pledge supported the school when it was in the critical initial phase and as it progressed. I'm not a writer, I hammer sculpture to shape over an anvil, but I attended when the campus was one corner of the College of Santa Fe and you show the expanded new campus (where I go back to lecture and demo over that same anvil), which is a very bright and welcome glimpse of the desert.

I remember watching the Wizard of Oz for first time has a 10 year old child on christmas day...51 years ago!. I was completely fascinated by it, the storyline, the colour and just the whole magnificence of the film. Completely unaware of the dangers that the actors were put in.
I think this classic film has stood the test of time, even entertaining children today.

As a child in the sixties. I studied original vampyre folklore. Nosferatu was probably as close to one would imagine an actual vampyre to be.
They don't go to high school, typically aren't wealthy, they definitely don't have emotions or sparkle.

My BF back in 1995, the year I graduated HS.
I went to spend a few months with my sister in Oh, I met a guy that was friendly with my sister, niece and my B in L. Over that summer we grew very close, he was a mechanic and the toughest guy I ever dated, until Dec. when I met my husband.
He would come over after I got home ever night at 10:55 just in time to watch the Golden Girls, we both grew up watching with our grandparents. I met my husband a few months later.
I will always cherish and never forget those memories.❤

Margaret Hamilton is also the name of this NASA software engineer that helped us get to the Moon. She wrote the flight software. It's a stack of paper taller than her. 😄
