"Phenomenon" starring John Travolta. A humble, simple guy comes out of a bar after some drinks with his friends and is hit by a light from the sky. He falls to the ground and when he wakes up he is transformed into an 'enlightened' man. He starts to see things clearly. He comes up with simple solutions to complex problems. He is filled with love and has so much to offer to humanity. But the erudite and learned from universities approach him, in a rather arrogant manner, seeking his permission to dissect his brains so they could find out what really happened to him. Of course, he tells them to go to hell. Watch it, please. You will never regret the decision.

The Truman show!! It’s not as explicit ‘spiritual’ as most of these movies, but it’s definitely a great movie about ‘waking up’! As are the Lord of the Rings movies. As is Avatar. Etc.

The Mission staring Robert Dinero shows reformation, atrocities in the name of God and the conflict and resolution of the different ways to serve Him. Fascinating ending philosophically.

The movie "Mr.Nobody" is what touched me the most among the list. Spoiler takeaway:.. .. The message of the movie is like what Buddha said. flesh related pleasures only bring suffering. The only way is the Middle path. thats why the boy ran in the middle path and found that leaf. lot of concepts from Indian Hindu scripts extracted. thats why, there was a Bollywood scene shown in the space ship, and the intercourse paintings in the middle shown of Ancient Indian kings and queens. Great movie. Live is not to be taken lightly... ..

Thank you for these recommendations. I have only seen about half of these. Brother Sun Sister Moon (1972) is my all time movie favorite. It deserves to be added.
