Engine Swapping James’ AE86 - Was it Worth It?

The AE86 has been a pretty big paper weight for the past couple months and it’s finally time to give it a new heart! James has been doing a ton of research while Zach has been assembling the engine to what will hopefully be a “smooth” engine swap.

Now we’d really like to thank everyone who has helped at pretty much every stage of this Swap!

Note: The guys over at Panic (Mark and Matt) helped us remote tune the 86 and now it feels better than ever!

The fact that the next episode will 99% likely be you pulling it out to paint the bay is the best way to end

"Basically we're putting a hamburger in a hotdog bun, you know what I'm saying?"

So awesome seeing how far James has come mechanically. From him basically being a tool getter during hi low, to holding his own now. Good shit James respect given where it’s due!!!

Things I learned while doing my first engine swap. 1. Either buy a used engine or a crate motor 2. spend a little more and get the beefier parts 3. paint the engine bay 4.check smog laws before you start 5. If your car is over 40 years old redo the wiring 6. It's incredibly satisfying the first time it starts

'Basically we're putting a hamburger in a hot dog bun'... Holy crap that is the best analogy I've ever heard.

“Today we are lubing up my shaft.
Is it immature? Yes. Is it funny? Yes!
Sorry I don’t make the rules.”
I woke up my girlfriend laughing at that 😂😂😂😂
