The last part of advice given worked for me. I went to the apps, chose YouTube, cleared the cache, cleared the data and its okay again. Note: I thought that clearing the data would wipe out my history and unlog me from YouTube, but that didn't happen. This is an excellent, helpful video. Thank you.

After all these steps, I had to do an extra step, youtube was running only on Mobile data. After I disabled that it started working on Wifi as well
