You say not to buy them from the cruel stores, but people who know how to care for them the correct way are actually saving them. I know a lot about hermit crabs, I did research for a week on how to properly care for one and I’m going to go save 3 of them tomorrow. Your encouraging people to let them die at those stores, when you could be saving them, heck even letting them go in the wild.

I never knew that they were forced to lose a shell for colored shells, as a kid I always thought they painted there real shells

They smash there shells and Force them to go into those painted shells. It makes me so angry because that's how one of my hermit crabs died
