I think they should put a signage or poster at the beach. "Don't pick seashells, don't steal the hermit crab's home". Most people are not aware about this until you see this video. 😓

After they use litter as a shell their normally curled abdomen gradually changes shape to fit the new home meaning its difficult to go back to shells after so they keep using litter once they start.

Hermit crabs have learned to recycle too... and it was so sweet of the local ppl to leave empty shells for the homeless hermit crabs 😍👌
