1AAuto! Thank you, thank you. 11 years later this saved me time and money today. I missed the part in the other video where you said, “don’t let the cable come out of the spool”. I didn’t recognize the cam on the upper right. Lifesaver x100 Or I would have had to buy a whole new regulator.

Removing the door panel is going to be your best bet at this point. It could be any one of those issues that you mentioned and without actually seeing what is moving or not moving for that matter, will help you out to diagnose the issue.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I was replacing regulator only not entire assembly so I needed to see hoe to rewind cable on wheel. Very very helpful!. You guys are awesome!

Thank you so much for taking the time that you do to help as many people as you do by posting these videos! I've been telling everyone about you guys!... I am a female and my daughter & I were able to save a lot of money by watching your videos and doing work on my Tahoe ourselves. This video saved my butt after I accidentally let go of the wheel while removing the window motor. We were so proud of ourselves after we then watched this video and managed to fix "my" mistake! Thanks again 1aauto!!

Attempting this on an unwound power regulator cable on an 04 f150. I watched the video on removing the door panel and it couldn't have gone smoother thanks to you guys 😁 The cable itself looks good if a bit dry and the motor sounds good so fingers crossed I can get it working again. Something apparently got knocked loose or off track when I was checking fuses in the cab. I finished up and closed the door like it was my own truck. Few hours later the window was halfway down. Didn't even have a battery hooked up to it for a week while we were doing maintenance under the truck.

Great video that explains how power windows work inside the door. On my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, I hear a relay click sound inside the door but there is no glass movement when I operate the window switch for either up or down. Does this mean I have a bad motor, regulator, or something is jammed? Thanks.

The title alone perked me up no end...the rest..absolutely marvelous. My only complaint..should have used an EVEN BIGGER screwdriver to pry the thing apart lol!

@ohhmyygodd For a 98 I would replace both. And I am not just saying that to get a bigger sale. At that age either one of the parts can have wear that causes problems. You could replace the motor but if the joints on the regulator are worn 2 months down the line either the reg fails or puts a lot of stress on the motor and overheats it. And vice-versa.

@csidaznigga 'is it possible to make it TOO tight?' Not really, to make it too tight you'd have to wrap it around an extra time which would make it just about impossible to string on to the rest of the regulator.

Will try this out tomorrow On A4 Audi bought the cheap kit that you have to wind the new cables in. Fiddled for two hours without success, will get an earlier start, next day. hope this new info helps.

@HydrOLoW If you have struggled for "way too long" then I suggest just getting a new one. I have not had a tiburon regulator apart so I can't give you any tips, sorry,
