Love this drill Rick. My favorite iron drill to help with my ball striking. Love the way you explain it and why it helps.

@Rick Shiels Golf - Thank you so much for putting out these videos! It's SHOCKING how much these three videos (particularly the punch shot drill) combined with the arm swing illusion video have helped my ball striking. I haven't hit shots like this since in 17 years! Can you do one for the driver now?

Thanks, Rick...between you and Pete, I'll have a lot to practice this winter when I am down south...golf courses and ranges have been closed since the end of October here in Nova Scotia...

Short and to the point, well done Rick. I have become a flipper thanks to back issues, looking forward to lessons 2 and 3 !! Would also like to see a side by side comparison of the Callaway Steelhead irons and the Titleist AP 1 by 13 handicapper. Looking for a new set this spring and enjoy your evaluations of clubs.

Nice tip...been working on this getting better got no GC2 just a have seen ball flite change, the ball will come down I don't hit the ball got S56 clubs now and new MP25's are on the way.... everyone is trying to get me to hit the ball Higher so I can hit the ball I love my med ball flight my golf course I play is Wendy and I need the ball to I've had cavity back clubs before and they launched the ball way too high for me and I hate the feel and the surprise longer I would rather make up distance some other way than sacrificing feel and ball flight I think your videos are just what I need.... thanks so much Rick excellent job

If I may provide constructive feedback - I am in my 60's and trying hard to apply these three techniques to get more distance on my irons. Your tip on hitting the ball first did help me in the past. What I'm finding with the hands ahead tip is that I'm getting more dispersion, spread, on where the ball lands. It does generally go lower than it used to. Where I was before - short but in the throat with an easy chip for a net 5, now it's on the side of the green in the rough or sand for a net 6. I think there are more components to the hands ahead tip eg the direction of my arms on follow-thru, and ball position, etc. My overall goal is to reduce my score. What do you suggest ?

Rick I know this is an old video but I have a question? Why deloft a 7 into a 5 and add more speed when you can just take a 4 or 5 add loft or hit it more neutral and get the same results with less effort and easier swing what the difference?

Hey Rick, I think some good videos would be to show how you can work on your game around the house for those of us that don't have a swing monitor and can't get to the range. What drills can we do just with a club in hand to help out? Thanks, love the content.

What if I'm trying this drill and I still hit my 7 iron 130 yards without swinging hard?? I'm keeping my hands pressed super far forward
