I have a 100% overbite, therefore, when I line up my front teeth, none of my other teeth even touch. It's made my chin look too small for my face and my smile silly looking. Even if I were to get this appliance to make my bottom jaw bigger, I still would have the problem that my front teeth completely cover my bottom front teeth. The only thing I can think of would be to add huge implanted molars so my back teeth would touch when lined up. I've never met anyone with a mouth like mine. Any suggestions is appreciated.

I had an overbite as a child so I had a herbst appliance to pull my mandible forward. Very fortunate in my case because I had no recession for the maxilla. Downside is my maxilla probably didn't grow as forward as it could have since a herbst appliance discourages forward maxillary growth.

When I was 13-14 in 2016, I searched "how to hide an overbite" on YT, thinking that I wasn't gonna find any information, but still desperate because mine was severe. One guy I found mentioned jaw exercises like mewing and tongue stretching, but he also mentioned that you had to be a minor to see any effects because adults stop growing. I don't think I did the mewing part correct but he said to "make sure you always keep your tongue on the roof of your mouth and to never clench your teeth when your mouth is closed", and that's what I did.

I had braces and was planning to do jaw surgery but turned it away because recovery is hell and you could be left with some severe symptoms. My overbite is still there but no one notices it unless I'm sleeping (because I clench my teeth) and I am positive if I didn't change my tongue/mouth posture, I would have gotten the surgery because my teeth were literally sticking out at 13. One thing I should have done was to chew evenly with both sides of my mouth. I saw on the x-ray that my left side of the jaw was slightly longer than the other side. Not a huge issue, it just feels weird to chew on the right side. I was trying to find that video recently, but I don't remember what it is exactly called. Anyway, I recommend this for teens who have an overbite, I can't say the same for an overjet because I didn't have one to correct.

Also Ron IMDO after finishing distraction you can start exercise right after. So it’s 10-12 days of turning after that you can resume any physical activity. 40 days later you get it surgically removed and recover for 4 days. After 6 weeks you can chew hard foods again. In order for IMDO to work you need upper jaw expansion first your upper molars must overlap your lower molars so you’ll need to expand your upper jaw 8-10 mm with MSE/SMARPE/DOME or Sarpe and have at least an 8mm overjet cause remember it also widens your mandible so if your upper jaw isn’t significantly wider than your lower at time of distraction you will end up in a Brodie bite.

What about crowded teeth? My maxilla isnt smaller than mandible, they are both the same. If i get MSE than my maxilla is gonna be to big for my mandible. My only way would be extractions, but im scared of ruining my face

Would you reccomend a BSSO if they want to extract lower premolar in order to increase your overbite before the surgery to get more advancement from the surgery? I'm worried about long term effects of this
