Orthodontic Treatment for Overjet (Overbite) - Rubber Bands

To correct the overjet (upper teeth sticking out) direction of the rubber band should be from the upper canines to the lower molars

I had a severe overjet, my face was round and due to this I got my teeth extracted. I know most people aren’t big fans of this but it certainly helped me. My face shape has been one of my insecurities for a long time but when I got my teeth removed and pulled back it helped a lot . If you’re truly willing to have a great smile you’d do anything to get it.

Hello, I've been wearing my braces for 4 months now.I can say that I have already noticed some improvement of straightener, but my main problem is the overbite.My orthodontist said that no extractions or elastics will be needed but recently I visited another one who insisted that my upper wisdom teeth should be extracted, otherwise my overbite will never be corrected with any other treatment, because I am 25 already.What would you suggest me?And why wisdom teeth?Wouldn't a premorals extraction make the whole treatment faster?Thank you.

im going on month 5 of braces and i hope ill have my bands on this visit. my teeth are straight. i just need the overject fixed. im having double jaw surgery too. not sure when but im only supposed to have braces 2 yrs.

They are doing this to me except with TWO BANDS PER TOOTH!! (Same tooth on top, two diffèrent bottom teeth) Do you have any idea how much constant pain this causes me? I have had them on for two weeks only removing them to eat and brush and they still hurt like hell! Is there something wrong with me or does this usually happen?

do patients having double jaw surgery ever wear the rubberbands before the operation or usually after? also would they possibly correct the overjet then do the surgery or corect the overject in surgery or after? doesnt have to be my case but im just wondering if thats ever done.

i have a big overbite and they put the bands from the opposite way?? going in a / direction. shouldn’t they be in a \ direction to fix the overbite??

Hmm....my lower teeth are perfectly straight but my upper teeth, the front two have a gap but they are pointed outwards to a little point like a triangle. I have quite a large space between my top and bottom I think that's called a over bite class two maloclussion....my tongue rests against my front teeth when I swallow...maybe that's the problem?
