Simon looks like every word that comes out his mouth is a surprise to him. But I love him and the tech talks!

There might be some viewers out there who are old enough to remember the old Suzuki RE5 rotary engine bike that had the same type (although primitive) of forced air exhaust pipe cooling because of the tremendous exhaust heat that was generated from the rotary engine- they had large air openings where the headpipes met the front of the mufflers to try to reduce the exhaust pipes temperature, but riders were still burning the soles of their boots - Great information Simon as always- These Moto GP engineers are true geniuses-

Thank you so much Simon and MotoGP for these insighful tech talks. It would be great to have one on Traction Control and how it is used by riders currently!

One of the best Motorsport, if not all sports analysts and commentators. A great mix of expert and fan that is relatable to all. Cracking job !

Yes I love the techno aspects of just about anything. It was my career field, working with Experimental Flight Test for almost 30 years. Troubleshooting and design support with some really sharp Engineers was a blast! Probably why I like your tech talks so much. You have the passionate perspective and energy we all had!

Motorcycle engines are designed back to front, they’re old fashioned design came about because of the carbs . We proposed a reverse design the exhaust exiting from the rear so the heads would be the opposite way round . The exhaust would integrate into the rear hugger . It’s would be a fuel and air injection system and a larger radiator in clear air at the front with no headers getting in the way or bleeding hot air . The power output would be 40% greater . Suzuki was given the offer but said “ not a the moment “ . As was using a rear view camera to a multi led screen, no need for mirrors and taking your eyes of the road.

Great video! And a great explanation of how that heat affects bikes and fuel. We base our business on this exact principal and solving these exact problems. We have helped and worked with many race teams on getting rid of this issue.

So if that bike is sitting there idling for too long, it'll boil the fuel. That's crazy
