What causes prostate cancer? The answer is not always easy to find. Experts believe there is a genetic link in some cases. There have also been links to chemical exposure such as Agent Orange. Racial background can also be a factor. American men of African descent are more at risk, as are men of European descent. Men with Asian heritage are somewhat less likely to have prostate cancer.

I just survived prostate cancer. I was treated by the SCCA Proton Center at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle and it was the best thing I ever did. My father died of prostate cancer and I'm pretty sure his father also died of it, so I was paying attention to my psa count and got the tissue samples taken just as soon as my psa count quickly doubled from 6 to 12.
Prior to treatment my PSA count was 12.35
Three months after my last treatment my PSA count was 0.21
and three months after that my PSA count was 0.1
Naturally I couldn’t be any happier with the results. I have no sexual or bladder issues. It’s a miracle. It’s just an amazing thing and the facility, doctors and staff are awesome.

I was diagnosed with PC in October 2019. Started radiation treatment in December 2019 - March 2020. I managed to complete the last treatment and rang the bell on a Friday. The following Monday because of COVID-19 the hospital and the world shut down. Just made it! PSA has been normal for a year now. The side effects have been brutal! My libido is shot to hell, penis seems to have shrank quite a bit due to the hormone pill I had to take to stop making testosterone. My man hood is shot to hell but I'm still cancer free a year later and I'm still here so that is the best thing.
