In this DIY video I’ll show you how to make a router table and fence. I’m using the Rockler Pro Lift router lift as a router insert for this DIY router table build. This homemade router table is dead flat with a melamine tabletop, and the router table fence is perfectly square to the top.

This is Part 1 of 3 in this router table series build

I don't know what is more impressive, your woodworking skills or your video creating skills.

Very nice table, well done, well explained, well edited, well lighted and no annoying overly loud music.

I have lost count of how many videos I have watched on router tables but this is by far the best looking one I've seen. Will very likely base mine on your design. Cheers from Australia.

Your explanation of installing the lift is the best on YouTube! I've watched dozens looking for directions as clear an succinct as this. Thank you. You're a great teacher!

Coming along great! I’m a fan of the laminated top. And the dowel trick for clamping the t track is brilliant.

Using dowel rod to clamp T-track and chair leveling screws made me smile but the toilet bowl bolts in T-track put it over the top thinking dang this lady has it together big time!! Beautiful design - thanks for sharing.

Hey Marie.. Love the look of this router table.. The issue I have with the insert plate from ROCKLER is the cost plus the shipping to IRELAND.. I would love to get it but the cost is too much so I will build my own lift mechanism in the future.. I'm spending monrey like crazy atm trying to get my workshop up and running so the router table will have to wait. I amy buy one of the TREND TABLES in the near future when I can see the benefits of such a spending spree. Not right now though Maire..
Ur table is sweet looking and I love the red accent against the white back drop on ur router table.. I salute u girl.

Well, I just finished this build! Wow. Wanted to thank DYI Montreal for these fantastic and clear videos and tips. Also useful were the links to the materials used. I used a different router lift, but that’s no big deal. If I had any recommendations to anyone thinking of building this table it would be to use good plywood. Spend the money for high quality birch plywood. My top ended up with a slight bulge. I corrected this with some laminated “beams” which I jointed and screwed to the bottom on the top, which complicated the construction of the base. Great build, thanks again!

Just watched you 3 part table build. I’m in the middle of doing much the same but adding the table to the end of my cabinet saw.
Adding an enclosure underneath. Seeing the significance of venting the motor enclosure, I will certainly add that to my build. Not being a fan of melamine, I’m using two 22”x44” 3/4” birch ply and then laminate a Formica top. Thanks for all the well thought out tips.

I’ve been looking at dozens of ideas but this is the best by far. I have ordered the plans and can’t wait to get started.
Note : The expense of an off the shelf lift is beyond my budget so I’ve mage my own 😁

I really like your idea on using the Furniture Glides as "Leveling Screws", Cheap & easy to find, I love it!

Once again, simple and sweet. Great job and very economical with all the features of a first class router table. The use of the table saw as a jig and clamping the track with the dowel = effortless.
