Rewatching this since I recently had bone density scan and I have osteopenia. I'm 59 and post menopausal. I eat healthy and exercise but obviously not doing great in bone arena! Her recommendation was calcium, vitamin D and another test in 3 years!!!! I will be rewatching all your videos on osteoporosis.

Thank you, Barbie, for this important info. My primary doctor never talks about supplements: mineral and vitamins. She is not good at writing a referral.

I am surprised that no one ever mentioned vitamin K in addition to the others. I did have a bone scan and they said I had a osteopena. I was given no guidance . It was poking around on the Internet to teach myself that brought me to you and all this wonderful knowledge I am beginning to learn. I will be doing a consult with you in the very near future.

All of those nutrients and more are in my supplements. They were made by an Osteopathic doctor who has severe Osteoporosis and has since been in the Olympics after 12 fractures! He is a man it helped him build up his bones. If anyone is interested they are called Osteo -naturals. I didn't discover these until after my fracture! He does say though these nutrients are important that Estrogen is the most important thing for a woman's bones! I started on Estrogen before I found your channel because of him but my hubby and I have learned so much from you! My doctor is especially impressed with my hubby's knowledge about menopause! Thank you Dr Barbie!

Very interesting info.
It is so crazy to me how doctors do not teach all of this stuff you have been teaching at Menopause University. It's just unbelievable.

I recently had a DEXA SCAN and was told I had osteopena. Doctors office called and told me the results and to start taking Vitamin C and D. I'm 53 and have been postmenopausal for about 5 years. I need to schedule a consult with you soon.

Thank you for your very informative and educational videos, I appreciate the time and knowledge shared. I’m 55 now and recently told I have Osteopenia. Looking forward in learning what I can do to prevent Osteoporosis besides taking/eating vitamins and minerals mentioned. I’m grateful for your dedication.

Oh, boy...my 85 year old mother insists her bones are just fine from taking calcium all her life. It does not matter she broke a wrist in her 60’s. She says it was because she was running backwards while coaxing her shepherd pup and tripped over an old tire that was protecting a young tree she planted. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I am happy to learn the truth. I do not doubt you one bit!
I would rather eat the food than take a vitamin or mineral supplement any day.
Will you teach me what vegetables contain which vitamins and trace minerals? Googling is confusing with so many different results.
When I maintained a water system for 160 lots in a gated community, people would complain about the silty powder lying in their toilet bowls. I told them it was Manganese and was not harmful...just a nuisance to see.
Until next week, dear Barbie! XO~Maria

It would be amazing and wonderful if whole, fresh fruits and vegetables that have the needed nutrients weren't so damn expensive! Meat is also often limited in my grocery budget. I use some supplements to help.

Wonderful, would be nice if you added the foods right now. I know you will have or are going to. That go with the vitamins. I have Multiple sclerosis and take combination Vitamin B's so all of em. Just something my nurologist gave me. xxx 💕❤💞

Is there a supplement brand(s) that have the aforementioned appropriate vitamins and minerals? Beneficial products can be difficult to find in this unregulated arena. Looking for safe, effective brands. Thx

I listened intently as I pay close attention to my diet and supplements and was completely disheartened when you said if one has already been diagnosed with osteoporosis it is too late to repair the damage. Is that to say I should stop eating foods that are beneficial for my bones and discontinue vitamins and supplements? The ONLY suggestion from my physician is to take Boniva or Fosamax - both of which I repeatedly decline.
