Pan Con Tomate is a favorite snack in the Proto household. It is really simple & never fails to impress our guests. We wanted to shoot this again using the skills we have learned over the past few years of filming & editing. We hope you like this newer version.

I usually don’t comment on YouTube videos but, as Spanish I have to say that it’s one of the few videos where pan con tomate is prepared in the right way. I also grate the tomato as you did, and I follow the same steps. It looks gorgeous! This is what we usually have for breakfast at home and kids love it. Thanks a lot Frank, for respecting the cocina española! I love your videos!

I make this all Summer with my home-grown tomatoes. I do use Maldon. It is heaven to me. I will often use butter instead of olive oil. I am dying right now 😍

Love it. Would you maybe show some quick 5-10min veggie recipes for we who want to eat more vegetables but want them to taste good? Even just a garlic spinach side or some easy options

UK here. My dad used to do this as a cheeky quick side dish or snack.

Had no idea what it was called or where he got it from but its a banger. So simple and wholesome

My spanish granpa also grates the tomatos, for what it's worth. You can also press the garlic into the tomatoes, and I think I prefer it, but rubbing is more traditional. I also like my bread a little less toasted.
You can also top it with manchego, serrano, or other stuff if you want a more tapas approach.

I used to make my own mayo with garlic and an egg yolk, and add it to pan con tomate, but i would first grate the tomato and then add olive oil and basil to it. My Spanish friends even approved it
