Poor quality of Tesla - auto mechanic view

The auto mechanic showed the appalling build quality of the new Tesla. It looks very sad. Rubber bands are lagging behind in a $120,000 car, cheap plastic that cracks when pressed. The hood holders are loose, small parts do not always stay in place. Users write that Tesla is ahead of the planet in innovation, behind the planet in quality.

That is what I have seen first hand on my test drives and demos, the build quality is just appalling and I am talking about brand new cars with delivery miles.

I feel bad for this guy. I always look at the rubber bands when im buying a car. My goodness you would think the Tesla teachers would hand out better quality bands out during recess. My dad always said Ford has the best 3 year old rubber ban technicians with the best playground factorys. 🏭

Yeah ended up cancelling my order for a tesla after seeing all these issues with them. Going with Audi etron for a bit

Some of this stuff is meant to move… and the door trim or the actual name belt molding is friction fit so pulling up on the corner and it coming off isn’t a sign of anythig there are lots of cars with the same or worse build quality even high end cars like bmw and Mercedes the problem with Tesla is the panel stamping it almost impossible to get decent gaps and fitment especially replacing a panel.

When you buy a Tesla you are buying it mainly for the technology not for luxury. Teslas interior have always been flimsy clip on plastic / pleathers to cheap leather . But when you got money do what you want I guess

Not saying it's acceptable but Elon didn't build the highest quality self driving electric vehicle. He made an affordable self driving electric car. People forget what tesla was. Yes he has the roadster but that isn't what fund's tesla and Elon knows it.
