DUDE, I am here to help all of you guys, in case I forgot, here I remind myself too, there is only two ways depending on your laptop type, as me and my brother faced the same problem but we got different model. ONLY HARD REBOOT!!!
1. If you are having a reset pin, use a paperclip to hold for 5 secs.
2. If you do not have a reset pin, hold your power button for 10 secs.

Mr. Geek Page, I love you. Uninstalling the WiFi adapter, which was hidden by the way, worked. That step seems so counter intuitive, but it worked. The fast talking supervisor at Staples wanted to charge me $170 plus tax to run an overnight “diagnostic” and “repair”. He didn’t even look at it for a full minute. I knew it was BS because the last time I took it there about a year ago with the same problem, the totally different crew fix it on the spot, for way less, (so much less that I did not have to raise an eyebrow) while I roamed around the store which resulted in me buying other handy things I did not go in to buy. You sir are the first channel I’ve subscribed to.
