The pilot with a V6 is definitely the play over the turbo highlander.

Wanted to say thank you. Purchased your guide the other night after seeing this video and being in the market for a pilot. I noted our region was incredibly heavy on touring rather than EX-L and hit 6.8% off MSRP, 750 Loyalty, and then, given one of the sources in your guide - found they had an additional 1K in a captive lease program since the Closing offer ended 4/1. It took some effort and a good amount of drive time, but I got a deal today that would put it to the left of any sales data found on consumer reports' bell curve of sales data. Fan for life. Buy his guide, my advice.

Edit: also learned of the MF promo via this, so no markup at the dealership

I just bought a 24 Elite. Got 5k off msrp and also got them to take off the additional 3k that they had for dealer add ons.

We have a 2019 Ridgeline with 49, 000 miles. It is nice and has had any major issues. One night the fan did not turn off after turning engine off, has to unplug the fuse so battery did not get drained. Next day replaced the fuse at Honda dealer. Outside that it has had about five recalls, the biggest one is fuel pump replacement. I do recommend it. Ours has the six speed automatic that some have complained about but ours so far on our AWD works good. My nephew also has a Passport with the nine speed and he has had no problems telling me it is a tank. Short of it, I recommend these.

I drive a 2021 pilot touring. I bought it because it was the best option for me from the dealership that had me over a barrel with car repairs. It’s not exactly what I wanted but it grew on me because of all of the features. It’s fully loaded. The only point that I would see to buy an lx is price point and shortage of pilots with a tow package. Someone might’ve gone with it because it was the only one they had with a hitch receiver. The only reason I would see someone going with a touring over an ex-l would be some of the extra features that they couldn’t live without.

We bought the 24 EXL at the prices you mentioned in the video last month. Do you know if rebates are retroactive?

In Canada at a Dwalari dealer, I was 1st quoted 2K over MSRP and no 2K Honda discount. Then $2900 in protection package BS I did not ask for - paint, under coat, maintence program with no initial explaination, then wheel locks and a bunch of admin BS. So first round I had to navigate that disaster then said he where is the Towing package?
Towing package is $2100CAD labor and install inc according to Honda Canada. Dealer tried quoting me over 3K, then backed down to 2.5K.
This along with offering me 10K less than market price for my trade they thought I was still going to buy after they had proved over and over they were scam artists...
The past three years have turned a bad business into a nightmare to deal with. Had a simularily insulting experience with Acura...

The touring gives you better leather(different then just basic black leather in EX-L) and the Bose audio with a panoramic sun roof. Other than that, it’s pretty much the same as the exl

Honda’s are built in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Thailand, and China. Hence, the quality differences. Always check the door plate for year and location.

Problem is Honda dealers ADD on all this bull shit options automatically at the dealer level such as stupid fab protection packages and other useless crap and add a chunk to the price.

Honda V6s have cylinder deactivation! That makes unreliable no matter makes the vehicle.

Honda has a new version of the 3.5 with a DOHC in the Pilot. Having had two 3.5’s and experience with the VCM 3.5 when it was first introduced in the 05-10(?) models, I’d def stay clear until this engine proves itself. Same reason I bought the 2L civic and not the oil dilution special turbo. I agree lease it.

I'm surprised at the CR rating. I'm on the Honda Pilot forums and FB Groups and I've not seen any major recurring issues. That said, whatever ppl are dealing with are sure to be less long term than the high strung Turbo 4 highlander.... at least until Toyota's worked out the bugs with all their new powertrains. Honda and Toyota reliability aren't what they were, but thats to be expected now that Toyota has finally been forced to upgrade their powertrains. Its easy to be unreliable when you've not had to update /replace your powertrains in decades.

Ton of Tundra major/catastrophic failures for example that has that FB group resembling the RAM groups a little too close for comfort lately.

If the 2025 has as many problems as my 2020 has I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. I've had sensor problems ($1500) the fuel injectors failed at 95k ($1500) and the system that stops the engine and restarts it when you take your foot off the brake has been worked on 3 times and it still isn't fixed.

If the vehicle had 195k miles on it would expect these things, but it's far too young to require these types of repairs.

I would buy the LX if I was buying one these becasue it is the cheapest and still has everything I need. I won't buy on though because of VCM.

It would have to be at least 15% off the pilot to get it back down to a reasonable MSRP on the Trail Sport.
The Black Edition is listing for $67, 000 CAD.
Nobody can afford these on an average Canadian income.
