This thing is honestly proof of how far tech has come. I can have a studio-powering device in a relatively small box. With things like the Hiby r2 and r3, I can completely fit my music library in my pocket; combine it with a Fiio BTR5 and I have a desktop grade setup on the go. It's absolutely insane how far the shrinking of technology has come.

G'day Joshua, I bought the R7 10 mths ago particularly because f this followup review... and have never looked back since. I use it with my deesktop PC as a USB DAC, Digital Input, and the main Headphone amp for my digital library and Streaming music. What a bloody Gem of a device that really does get used EVERY Day since the day I bought it Well worth the money spent on it.. Cheers Mate :)

I've owned this device for 2 weeks now, pairing it with a Focal Clear MG and using Roon for the most part. I love the SQ, even on the 220V input it sounds amazing. The only real downside is the interface. You don't really want to change things constantly in terms of installing apps and going into settings, because for me it feels like I need to pick it up like any Android Phone. Which of course isn't the idea, meaning you have to get close to the screen, facing it directly. For me that means getting off my couch and on my knees, even though the R7 is right next to me. Another issue is the Airplay input. Streaming from my Apple TV to the R7, I get 'hicks and clicks'. If I install another Airplay receiver app, this doesn't happen, but in both cases video and audio get out of sync (even if there's a 'delay' setting in milliseconds). Hopefully that issue will be resolved.
