He is obviously a metal guy.

Two Rock is awesome. So is Soldano. Lucky to have both ❤

I cannot believe you did not put the spider at 10. That would’ve saved the whole list lol.

I still have a line 6 spider IV I bought almost 16 years ago
Thing still slaps so hard has great distortion and cleans with very little interface to cause problems for the user. Just adjust your knobs and your volume/ tone and you'll be amazed what you can get out of that thing.

The first "larger" amp I ever had was a spider, and I feel like the majority of hate they get is really overblown. They're not going to sound like an expensive tube amp of course, but if you take some time and really play with the settings in a setting how you'll use it (miced up, baffled, etc) I feel you can genuinely get some really decent sounds out of them on a budget. Most people who hate on them never took the time to really mess with it imo

Years ago I heard a kid absolutely killing some heavy riffage on a JC120 @ Berklee. then followed up with those clean chorus sounds. I haven't heard many of the amps on this list in person - but a JC120 would currently be my #1 - if I ever win the lottery.

Phil Emerson of Emerson's Guitars (defunct) told me about the Soldano heads 20 years ago, and I should have taken his advice! He did sell me a nice Ampeg Reverberocket though, along with many wonderful guitars. He would pull it off the wall and play it through the telephone to me, then give me his honest opinion about the guitars, sometimes telling me NOT to buy them - the best guitar salesman ever!

The Mesa is 2 right behind the fender deluxe.

The Spider is very much an amp of its era. If you want retro nu-metal tone it's still a solid choice. The new Catalyst, however, is the best choice if you need a range of tones but can only have one amp!

Two rock is the best amp I have ever played and I played pretty much every amp on this list but the two rock a play was a bloom field Drive

The Line 6 actually got ranked, and Alabama college football is struggling, these are a few of the signs of the apocalypse

Everyone has their opinion but mine is JMP number one, it was the precursor to the JCM800 which was a great amp but bit too muddy when cranked…

The JMP still had the crisp clear sound of the 1959 amp but they added an additional preamp tube and routed a little differently the way the original was wired and doing so began the metal sound for Marshall (my own experience of owning all three amps).

Still own my 1959 SLP but sadly sold my 1987 JMP and also my 1987 original JCM800 without the effects loop version…

None of my amps ever had effects loops installed from original specs however my 1959 does have one now, it was professionally installed along with some other mods that were done for my taste buds.

People are downsizing now.
I just got myself the 1x12 Suhr HOMBRE. Incredible amp. Clone of a 1962 Fender Brownface Deluxe.
Almost bought the Marshall 1974x

That's tough

Those are apples and oranges he's naming

Ironically, no Orange, Rockerverb is great

Fender, Two rock and Magnatone are that bluesy clean, edge of break up overdrive.

The Marshall Mesa and Soldano are for healthy amounts of overdrive, distortion, Saturation.

I’d like to hear his thoughts on that Spyder opinion. Why can’t Orange get some Love?

Any two rock is one.
Fender silver or black face bassman too.
