Marshall JVM - Is This Marshall's Most Versatile Amp.

In today's video, I look at the Marshall JVM 205C. The JVM range is Marshall's flagship range of amps with midi switching dual master volumes and digital reverb. In this video, I look at both channels with the 6 modes to see how it sounds.
JVM205C
Intensify your tone with the JVM205C. With three different modes per channel, this 2x12” 50W combo can take you from clean to high-gain overdrive and anything in between. The pairing of one Celestion Vintage 30 and one Celestion Heritage speaker creates a warm, powerful blend that perfectly complements the amplifier. Whether you’re experimenting, performing or recording, this versatile amp is the complete package.

KEY FEATURES
SIX DISTINCT SOUNDS
Two channels, each with three gain modes, gives you access to a wide range of sounds and almost-endless options for refining your tone. Along with the three-way EQ in each channel, the Presence and Resonance controls let you shape the tone from the power amp.

THE HEART OF YOUR RIG
Connect a host of effects pedals and other external gear within the JVM’s two effects loops. The first loop is adjustable to let you perfectly blend your effects and original tone together. JVM amps can also receive and repeat MIDI commands for ultimate control and synchronising with the rest of your setup.

STAND OUT SOLOS
Use the two master volumes and built-in reverb controls for exhilarating solos. Instantly recall your mode and reverb settings with the programmable footswitch (included), giving you power and flexibility exactly when and where you need it.

SILENT RECORDING
Take your sound from the stage to the studio with the flick of a switch. With the JVM in silent recording mode you can hook up to an interface or mixing desk to capture that perfect take.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

I bought JVM215C last week. This amp is perfect! Worth every cent. Best investment I did in the guitar gear.

Great demo of a great amp! I've owned a JVM410H since 2008 and I still love it's tone and amazing versatility. My dream is that Marshall produce a down sized 20 watt version that keeps the features but loses some weight...at my age I need all the help I can get lol

The first 30 seconds may be the reason I finally buy this amp.

Amazing demo! I’ve run my JVM 410H as my one and only since about 2011!

I have ordered the JVM410c 6 months ago (in Australia ETA early Feb) I can not wait to get this amp. I had a JCM900 Dual reverb years ago and sold it. Biggest mistake. Thank you for the Video Paul

I have the 210H and it’s hands down the best Marshall I’ve ever played.
I tend to stay on the crunch Red channel and boost it with a Timmy set fairly clean with a bass cut, I find this gets rid of any ‘sediment’ and cloudiness in the red mode and it’s just like a fantastic 800 rock tone.

Your review got me in the mood for buying the Marshall JVM205C soon.

I'm a Mesa Mark series guy but there's something with the JVM tonally that sounds like the perfect mix of Marshall and Mesa to me.

I've played my whole life but do to not being very smart, I can only work menial jobs and eek my way through life and therefore can never afford a new guitar or nice gear. I come to channels like this to dream. Great playing. Such a wonderful sound. Thank you

Pretty amazing string definition even on the red high gain setting. Chords still sound good.

This is the amp that saved Marshall. Playing technique is the ideal. You should upload some technique videos.

It’s a great amp that’s unfortunately overlooked. I’ve been using one for 14 years now, and I’m still finding new and amazing tones. Not long after buying it, I upgraded to Mercury Magnetics transformers and added their choke… like going to high fidelity! Great video.

Love my 2012 JVM 215C, and not just because it has my initials on it. I use the clean channel with just a touch of dirt and boost it with an OCD and Lovepedal Eternity. I also run a line from the effects loop out into the effects loop return on a modified (effects loop added) '68 Bassman. The Marshall pre-amp through the Fender power amp sounds incredible!

Love these Marshall reviews, Paul.
While you are at it, how about the Marshall DSL40 Combo. It has Clean/Crunch, and Lead1/Lead2 channels. It has great cleans and gets very dirty for a lot less money. Each channel has it s own reverb also.
If you do get to review it, perhaps use a Boss OD-3 instead of the Tube Screamer for a boost, or if you cannot get your hands on one, then a Boss SD-1.

Wow. The high-gain tone sounds almost like a Soldano. What a great amp!
