You did a great job in this video and I think people didn’t understand the idea of it. To me, the goal is not to replace the drums but understand what you could do in the cajon and what is the corresponding sound of it in the drums. People are so dramatic, omg.

I love the way how he randomly keeps his Minions on the floor.

I have both. I recommend both because they each have qualities that are tailored for different situations.

Cajons are very easy to make, I made mine some years ago, and it sounds really good. If someone here likes woodwork, that's a very good project

I was told to get a drum to help with healing from trauma (grounding, rythem, reconnecting with self) and found your video looking for ideas. The way you present this explains how to use the cajon so well thank you. Helps in understanding to break it down into parts like that. Made up my mind to get one! In appreciation. 💗🙏💗

Awesome comparison of Cajon & Drums, to understand it's features. The bonus is Alejandro's personality!!

i can so easily picture an earthy, acoustic melody to this- i love how it sounds. honestly tempted to pick one up and learn it now, since i havent done percussion for years

I have drums and a cajon too. Both are fun to play for sure! For more drum-like hats and crash I use foot tambourines on my feet. Which is like playing a drum set upside down. The cajon is for certain styles though, for heavy rock, metal I need my drums! During lockdown, the cajon has been really nice to have for home practise since it’s naturally suitable for quiet playing.

Just dont treat cajons as a replacement for drums. It is whole different instrument that you use to get that nice crispy accoustic sound usually coupled with accoustic guitar/bass. It gives a different vibe than drums and i think thats enough of a reason to play the cajon.

Thanks for the great lesson, I now enjoy playing my cajon, you make it easy to understand the concept of rhythm.

I'm a Latin bassist and had the opportunity to play a cajon at a Puerto Rican bomba-fest and I absolutely loved it. I was on the edge about whether to buy a cajon or not and this video sold me. I have a drum kit available at my house for fellow musicians to use when we jam but I like the bass better. But after playing the cajon, I felt that it could love to play it almost as much as playing bass. Sometimes I play acoustically with friends where we don't have the opportunity to have a bass and I typically just play hand percussion. But I would jump at the chance to play a cajon instead! Thank you for such a great video. I dig your white drum kit. Mine's white too, but not the same finish. I like your minions, too. That was really cool! ☺

Such a fantastic way of relating the Cajon to a kit. I bought my Cajon primarily as a portable bass drum to play with a piccolo snare. It’s great to know that it takes on similar characteristics as that of the different parts of my kit, when I’m not around my kit, while also wanting to find out how to find it’s voice as a separate instrument. Amazing video❣️

Thanks for the tutorial! I recently bought my first one and this is very informative and will help me learn to play it.

Really enjoyable and super-simple. It's even nice to leave this video playing in the background whilst doing something else - very nice job mate!

I really appreciate the breakdown of the 3 separate parts of the TAPA! (1:00 - 2:00) -- In my mind, I'm translating from a drum KIT to a single BOX cajon... Thanks, Alejandro!
