First, coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides called caprylic acid and lauric acid. These are known to increase your metabolic rate.

Coconut oil that has a shelf life of up to 3 years. This is because it's nearly all saturated fat with very small amounts of polyunsaturated fats, which are extremely fragile and oxidize once exposed to oxygen, which can happen in the air and also in our bodies.

Components of coconut oil have been found to have remarkable physiological effects. Theyve been known to act as :

antihistamines,

antiinfectives/antiseptics,

promoters of immunity,

glucocorticoid antagonist,

After a period of 34 days, the sunflower oil group exhibited a body fat percentage of 21.1%, whereas the coconut oil group had a body fat percentage of 15.9%. Additionally, in terms of fat composition, 16.9% of the fat in the sunflower oil group was linoleic acid, compared to only 11.3% in the coconut oil group.

Coconut oil has traditionally been used in cooking, baking, skincare, haircare, and even medicine. I actually used to use it as deodorant about 10 years ago.

Well said except that the harmful Linoleic Acid is found in olive oil. Coconut oil is perfectly healthy and a superfood without any LA.

I use coconut oil instead of lotion. Melt the coconut oil, put some on my palm, slap my hand in running water so it does not get too oily and rub on. Been doing it for years but i cook with ghee. No vegetable oil for me!!
