Love how they say 89 was so extreme. Haha. Although maybe extreme for that area, I grew up in Phoenix, AZ. Average temperature each summer was 117° Fahrenheit. We cooked eggs on the concrete, rocks and pans all the time. We also baked cookies on the dashboard while we shopped, and used oven mitts to hold the steering wheel so we can drive. The tar they use to cover the cracks in the streets gets sticky and melty soft on many days.

I remember one year about 20 years ago, it got so hot, our shoes were melting under our feet, our bike tires were melting, and about 50% of all households lost their AC units to melted components.

It is crazy hot in AZ, but we were used to it. I miss my hometown sometimes.

I live in rural Ohio and one Sunday morning as we were enjoying our Sunday brunch at grandmas house the ceiling above the dining room table collapsed and two enormous “ceiling snakes” came crashing down on the dining room table. Seriously scarred some of us, chiefly, me, for life.

That "ceiling snake" would have been the end of me living there! That thing tore the ceiling apart! I can imagine laying in bed when the ceiling starts collapsing and a big ass snake jumps on you! Thanks for the nightmares I'm going to have tonight!

I can not stress this enough: THANK YOU FOR THE HEADS UP!

I think I'd never sleep again with those 8 legged nightmares haunting my vision.

The pufferfish is just adorable as it's amazing. Maybe it could learn to fetch.

Can we just appreciate how smooth the water in the sinkhole looks? Seriously, it looks like granite or some other type of smooth rock

89 degrees! Cry me a river, it gets into the high nineties with humidity in the summer here in Georgia pretty regularly.

89° isn't a heat wave. At all. I believe it topped out at 107 that day in BC
