I just started my first full coverage large cross stitch project. I was spending more time trying to find my place than stitching! Thank you for showing me how to grid my piece. Now, it's a lot easier and I may actually finish. Thank you.

I have been cross stitching for 50 years and I thought I knew it all. Boy was I wrong. I am learning so much from you stitching YouTubers! I am definitely going to try gridding when I start a new project. Don’t know how you guys do more than one at a time. I absolutely have to finish one before I can start another.

I like your method of hand drawing as you go! I saved so much time and avoided so many mistakes by gridding. I don’t know how people cross stitch anything big without it.

You explained that really well! I have tried girding with fish line, sulky thread and pen but have never watched a video that explained it as well as you did.

Gridding is my life saver. I"m never off. I use a Frixion pen that comes out with the heat of an iron and it won't disappear. It's used by quilters and can be found in most fabric stores. 4 feet x 5 Holy moly!!! And I thought 24" x 36" was bad enough. Oh well, have fun!!

I saw your gridding video earlier and started griding for my HAED. Makes a big difference in figuring out where you are at.

I want to get back to cross stitching, it’s so relaxing and not as strainueous as knitting g/crocheting, which I actually already love and enjoy, but seriously need to start this, great idea, the gridding! Tfs new subby

Thank you. I crochet and loom knit but I also used to needlepoint and cross stitch. I just picked up a book on counted cross stitch with dragon's, unicorn's and fairies in it and I'm thinking about jumping in again. They are small but I was thinking about mixing them all on one canvas or maybe doing like four little ones. I have been watching you for a while now and I got the "bug". I stopped doing counted cross stitch and needlepoint because I need my reading glasses to do it(I don't need them so much with knitting and crochet I don't know why that is, oh well). Thank you again Jules

I grid with coloured fishing line. 5 up 5 down 1 direction and 6 up 4 down other direction so the lines are never in the same hole

Hi Jules, I love your videos! I am new to gridding also. I had cross stitched years ago and final started stitching again. There is so much to learn and it is nice to see how other people do things. I usually do small projects so that I can finish them. I admire your large projects! Just BEAUTIFUL! You are a very patient lady! I am thinking about doing a larger project, one that actually has more than 1 page. How many strands of thread do you like to use for 14 count Aida and 18 count Aida? Thanks again for your videos. Greetings from Saskatchewan, Canada!

Love your videos. What fabric and how many threads do you recommend when using the tent stitch? I've never tried it

Thank you - I enjoy using grid lines on these types of projects too, agree that it helps go faster, really will help on that Scarlet Quince project! I don't use a ruler, but I do use the edge of one of the million fake plastic charge card things I've received over the years. Since they are small, it's all the length I need, just move it along for as long as I want to go. Enjoy the stitching! I popped on over to look at your blog, is there a spot to subscribe?
